Needed new project bags for my knitting and crochet wips and found this shoe bag pattern on YouTube.
Made totally from scraps from my stash which feels sooooo good. Added the trimmings on the denim for a bit of fun which was purchased a few years ago from @jerseyvoguefabrics.

These were good fun to make and super useful and I can see many more being made up.

Another @helens__closet #ashtontop . I didn’t think I’d love this pattern and get as much use out of it as I have. It’s THE perfect top for extreme Italy temperatures. I used bias binding instead of facings due to fabric constraints. Super proud of my neat insides. Swipe across to see.
I’m so pleased I tried out this pattern as I was struggling to know what to do with the small amount I had left. This fab cotton sateen was a remnant I had leftover from a previous make a few years ago. Unfortunately the shop has recently closed down.

‘Bob’ meets ‘Ashton’ in Arezzo 🇮🇹.

I wanted to add some brown ricrac to this set to avoid the pj look but I couldn’t find any locally in time. I feel I was walking around in my jammies but comfort was key 💪🏻. Swipe for a close up of the fabric.

The weather finally cooled a (tiny) bit so we could get out of the pool and head into Arezzo for an evening stroll. What a pretty town!!

I’ve had this gorgeous navy linen in my stash for over 6mths so I decided to put it to good use. I wanted to make wide leg trousers but I’m still yet to find THE pattern so I figured this dress would be perfect for our upcoming trip. I didn’t realise the pockets weren’t inseam so I used a lighter weight cotton to reduce bulk but they are visible. Note to self - read instructions fully prior to cutting out pattern pieces 🤦🏻‍♀️.
I fancied adding some trimmings for fun.
Thanks to @radey_made and all the girls at @sewsewcialherts when decision paralysis kicked in about colours and order ❤️.

Last minute entry to the @fabricsgalorelondon Summer Challenge is this @fridaypatterncompany #donnyshirt in this lovely Lenzing Ecovero Viscose.
I lengthened the pattern by 2” as I found my first version far too cropped, this one is too long so I’m hoping my next Donny will be 👌🏻. We live n learn 🤪.

Also entering #mymakesjuly26 challenge as we’ve just booked a last minute summer holiday so panic sewing has kicked in. Maxi dress up next….

My first Coord. I did feel a bit out of my comfort zone going out in public wearing this. Felt like I was in jammies - hope the public didn’t think I had forgotten to get dressed before stepping out 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Bananas in pyjamas - The boy who loves bananas!!!

This fab cotton jersey was chosen by Master Sewariyon when we went fabric shopping few weeks ago. I’m cross with myself for making him the wrong size. Next time I won’t make a guess. Good thing these are jammies and thankfully he doesn’t mind too much. No chance they’ll fit him next year but I’ll be happy if he can get to the end of this summer 🤞🏻.

Another pair of 100% cotton Bobs - perfect for our summer when one day it’s boiling hot and the next it’s 5’ cooler.
I sized down to a 10 on these and they feel a lot better. I’m undecided whether to shorten the next pair or not 🤔. Worn with a rtw t-shirt. Hopefully these don’t give school uniform vibes as some of the ‘lovely girls’ from #sewsewcialherts 🤪 mentioned, or even chef vibes as @dphotopostproduction said 🤦🏻‍♀️. After seeing many lovely versions of this dress I decided to jump on the bandwagon.
I was having a sewing date with Kerri @sewing_st.albans and we thought it would be fun to make the same pattern. We had all good intentions but too little time and too much talking meant not much sewing took place. Luckily it was #sewsewcialherts that weekend so I got a lot done and then finished it off at home. I’m really happy with it and had lots of compliments when I wore it to Threads at @farnhammaltingscraft last weekend.

Another nice quick make. This is the @truebias #jessetee using cotton jersey that has been in my stash for at least a couple of years. I bought it in Dorset but can’t remember the name of the shop.
I felt it was too short so added this ribbing band and then used it for the neckband too. I’m happy with the result.

The sudden heatwave that’s currently hitting the UK gave me an excuse to sew up some simple T-shirts that were very much needed.
I’ve been wanting to try out the lovely Rachel @thefrenchseams tutorial for finishing the neckline and was pleasantly surprised how simple it was. Next time I’ll manage to hide all my stitches 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thanks Rachael.
