One thing about prom season? Almost every dress is some version of a mermaid gown. Once you truly understand the mermaid fit, how fabric stretches, how beaded mesh behaves, and where to add the RIGHT allowances… you stop wasting hours making unnecessary patterns every single time.

Learning how to cut directly on fabric is one of the biggest game changers for me and my team. Especially when working with stretchy fabrics, rhinestone mesh, beaded fabrics, and custom gowns that require fast turnaround times during busy season.

The goal is not just cutting fast. The goal is cutting with CONFIDENCE. Knowing your measurements, knowing your numbers, knowing where to leave room for alterations, knowing where to take in, where to let out, and creating gowns that fit beautifully with minimal adjustments later.

In this class, I’ll be teaching you how I cut directly on fabric for both corsets and skirts, how I calculate my allowances, and how I prepare gowns for future fittings or possible alterations for shipped clients. These are the techniques that save us HOURS during prom season while still creating luxury gowns with clean fitting. ✨

POV: you finally learn that corsets are for EVERY body type ❤️

The basic foundation of corset making is the same, no matter the size. The real difference comes from understanding the body in front of you and knowing what small adjustments need to be made to create a corset that not only looks beautiful, but actually fits, supports, and feels comfortable to wear.

A corset should shape and support you — not leave you in unbearable pain.

When working with plus-size clients, structure matters. Support matters. Balance matters. From boning placement, layering, compression, bust support, waist shaping, mobility, and even being able to sit down comfortably… those little details make all the difference between a corset that just “looks good” and one that truly FITS the client.

One thing I’ll always stand on is that corsets are not limited to one body type. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful, supported, and confident in couture ✨

In my 2026 Intensive Advanced Corset Class, I’ll be teaching the techniques, tips, and construction methods I personally use to create structured, supportive, luxury corsets for all sizes 🤍

Enrollment for my 2026 Intensive Advanced Corset Classes officially opens MAY 15TH ✨🤍

I’m so excited to be doing these classes for the SECOND time this year. Every prom season, my team and I grow, learn new techniques, improve our construction, and discover better ways to create luxury gowns — and I truly love being able to pour all of that knowledge back into other designers.

As designers, I want us all to thrive, grow confidently in our craft, and be able to make a real living doing what we love full-time. 🫶🏾

This year’s classes will include updated techniques and new methods I’ve learned throughout this last season, especially when it comes to:
• luxury corsetry
• plus-size structure & support
• working with rhinestone/beaded fabrics
• clean finishing & lining
• gown construction
• attaching corsets to skirts
• luxury sewing techniques
• and business training on how to upscale, attract high-paying clients & charge your worth.

GROUP CLASSES:
There will ONLY be 3 group classes available:
✨ Class A
✨ Class B
✨ Class C

Each group class is a 3-day intensive from 10AM–7PM daily here at Lovesohna Designs Studio in Houston, Texas.

ONE-ON-ONE CLASSES:
There will ONLY be 3 one-on-one students accepted for 2026. These classes are more flexible and personalized, and we’ll choose dates together based on both our schedules. One-on-one classes are 2 days only. 🤍

INVESTMENT:
Group Class: $3,000
One-on-One: $3,500

Payment Plan:
• $1,000 due at enrollment to secure your spot
• $1,000 due June 1st
• Remaining balance due first day of class

All tools, machines, lining, boning, thread, zippers & materials will be provided. Students only need to bring their beaded/rhinestone fabric or purchase directly from us.

Late June–Early July 2026
(Exact class dates will be finalized on May 15th)

These classes are for serious designers ready to elevate their craftsmanship and step into luxury-level construction. Limited spots available and once they’re filled, that’s it. 🤍

This stunning dress was designed and sewn by my mentee, Maritza, during my 3-Day Intense Fully Beaded Corset Class. ✨

Before this class, she had never worked with beaded fabric and had never made a corset dress. In just three days, I showed my students exactly how I cut, sew, and finish my couture corset beaded gowns — and Maritza created this entire dress herself under my guidance.

I’m beyond proud of her, and I can’t wait to see all the incredible designs she’s going to bring to life. 🥹💜
