POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“When Bees Buzz” is dedicated to my father. It’s been a year since he passed away. So my last visual for 2021 is in honor of him. The title is “When Bees Buzz” because Buzz/Buzzie was his nickname. He was a conductor on the A train. When he was a kid, he moved from Brooklyn to 145th street and Edgecombe. Everything in this visual, embodied my father. One of the hardest poems I had to write but one of my favorite visuals I had to do. Love you daddy aka Seymour A. Kelly Sr.🖤🤞🏾#girldad #kendricklamar

In March, I went to Magic Johnson Theater to see @athousandandonefilm. I said to myself “I can’t wait to see my name on the big screen at Magic Johnson Theater.”

God listens. In the matter of two months, I’ve watched two of my visuals on the BIG SCREEN. I realized seeing my name up there isn’t so far-fetched 😉. I wrote both poems 8 years ago and decided to turn them into visuals in 2020 & 2021.

In April, my visual “I Am A Woman” was selected and screened at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center for the @queens_underground_film_fest (slides 7-10). I got a chance to meet the Executive Director of the festival, Adrienne Whaley. Also got to be interviewed by @koleurzz from DTFRADIO.

On June 1st “Where I’m From” was selected and screened at Magic Johnson Theater for @thepeoplesfilmfestival (slides 1-6). “Where I’m From” was screened their OPENING NIGHT! This one was special. “Where I’m From” being played at HOME is a priceless moment! HARLEM ALWAYS OKAY LOL 💅🏾💅🏾.

Shoutout to my friends that pulled on me and those that wished me well wishes. Love y’all ✨.

Cheers 🏆✨✨ www.seymonekelly.com

“The highest expression of the Taurus woman is a woman who knows her worth. She is grounded. She is present. She is devoted to herself. She is anchored in her values. She owns her sensuality. She respects her need for earthly pleasures. She moves through life at her own pace. She is rooted within the Earth and trusts her divine timing. She listens to her body’s wisdom and inspires others to do the same. She is deeply feminine and embodied. She is the ultimate earth goddess and she owns it. “
