💧 10,000 gallons of rainwater! 🌧️ Thanks to all of our recent rain, the Santa Fe Children’s Museum’s water catchment tank is completely FULL! That’s 10,000 gallons of collected rainwater helping sustain our entire Backyard, including our community garden. 🌱💙 Originally installed in the 1990s, it was renovated in 2023 to ensure it continues its vital role in water conservation for years to come. By harvesting rainwater, we reduce our reliance on fresh water and preserve local groundwater and lower our carbon footprint and combat aridification. The mural by Autumn Dawn Gomez (Comanche/Taos Pueblo), created with youth mentors from Tewa Women United and our Youth Conservation Corps, celebrates water, pollinators, wildlife, the changing seasons, and our connection to the natural world.
