What a wonderful moment to celebrate community, culture, and inclusion! ✨

It was an honor to join city leaders and community members at the San Francisco War Memorial to celebrate AB 2017, a meaningful milestone recognizing Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha and advancing religious and cultural inclusion across California. 🌙

A heartfelt thank you to Assemblymember Matt Haney, Hala Hijazi, and the Agency for Human Rights for bringing our communities together to celebrate this important achievement.

Moments like these remind us of the power of representation, unity, and the importance of ensuring that all communities feel seen, valued, and celebrated. We were honored to be part of such a special occasion! 💜

This morning we are celebrating the work of @stefani4ca and @danielluriesf to secure the funding for a new shelter space in San Francisco for survivors of domestic violence, run by @sanfranciscosafehouse. Adequate housing, with wrap around services, for survivors of DV, trafficking and gender based violence is crucial to ensure women and children can heal and rebuild their lives. #DVAM #DVAM2026 by @sfdosw

Today’s Joint Special Hearing of the Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee and the Commission on the Status of Women brought together community members, advocates, and survivors for an important conversation about San Francisco’s response to sexual assault cases and policies and procedures in place to support survivors.

The most powerful part of today’s hearing was the voices in the room. Survivors courageously shared their stories, experiences, and calls for change, reminding us why these conversations matter and why their voices must remain at the center of this work.

Every story deserves to be heard. Every survivor deserves to be treated with compassion and respect, and above all, with dignity—not as a privilege, but as a basic human right. 💜

Thank you to the survivors, advocates, and community members who showed up, spoke out, and helped make today’s conversation so meaningful.
