Every opportunity can open a new door. 💙

For Shiaw Ying, building a pathway towards employment has been a journey of learning, growth and gaining confidence.

Since joining MINDS Regional Hub (Queenstown) in 2021, he has gained valuable workplace experience in the food and beverage industry. Today, he is continuing to build his skills and independence through a job trial, with support from his Job Coach as he works towards open employment.

His journey reminds us that inclusion is about creating opportunities for Persons with Intellectual Disability to learn, work, grow and participate meaningfully in the community.

Colours of Inclusivity is MINDS’ annual fundraising campaign that celebrates inclusion and champions a more inclusive Singapore. Your support helps MINDS create opportunities for more Persons with Intellectual Disability to develop their skills, build confidence and pursue greater independence.

💙 This International Day of Charity, make your contribution count. Donate today and help create more opportunities for inclusion.

Every achievement begins with a moment.

A student taking the next step towards independence. A caregiver finding support. A volunteer lending a helping hand. A partnership opening new possibilities. A community choosing inclusion.

These moments may seem small on their own, but together, they tell the story of a year dedicated to empowering persons with intellectual disability, supporting families and caregivers, and building a more inclusive Singapore.

As we look back on FY2025, we're grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.

🌕Different activities, one shared celebration. 💙

This Mid-Autumn Festival, clients, caregivers, and staff at MINDS Community Hubs at Kebun Baru and Yishun came together for moments of creativity, connection and festive cheer.

At Community Hub (Yishun), clients and caregivers created personalised clay photo frames together, turning their creativity into keepsakes to cherish. At Community Hub (Kebun Baru), the celebrations included lantern decorating, air-dry clay mooncake making, a lantern quiz and a lantern walk at nearby Ang Mo Kio Park. 🏮

While each hub celebrated in its own way, both gatherings created opportunities for clients and caregivers to share experiences, strengthen connections and make memories together.

Because the heart of a celebration isn't just what we do — it's the people we share it with. 💙

Living in the central region of Singapore? Explore the vibrant community activities at a MINDS hub near you and get involved today: https://linktr.ee/mindscentral.

💜 We were ready to bring the energy to The Purple Parade 2026!

From the vibrant beats of MINDS Woodlands Gardens School Neon Beats to the rhythmic performances of MINDS Perform’s Taiko Drum Troupe, and our Social Enterprise Booth showcasing meaningful merchandise, we were looking forward to celebrating inclusion with everyone.

In view of the current haze situation and concerns about air quality, The Purple Parade 2026, originally scheduled for 24 October, has been postponed to the first half of 2027. This decision was made with the safety and well-being of all participants in mind, especially persons with disabilities and their caregivers, who may be more vulnerable to the effects of the haze.

While we await the next Purple Parade, the spirit of inclusion continues! 💜 At MINDS, we remain committed to celebrating the abilities of persons with intellectual disability and creating opportunities for everyone to participate, contribute and shine.

📢 The new event date and venue have yet to be confirmed. Follow @purpleparade or visit purpleparade.sg for the latest updates.

Let’s keep the purple spirit alive and look forward to celebrating together in 2027! 💜

What makes a community special? The familiar faces, the laughter shared over a meal, and the friendships that grow along the way.

On 12 September, Me Too! Club (MTC) celebrated its 11th anniversary with an MTC Kopitiam-themed gathering, bringing together around 200 members, caregivers, volunteers and staff for an afternoon of fun and connection. ☕️

From sharing a meal and enjoying performances by fellow MTC members to trying their hand at caricature drawing and balloon sculpting, everyone had a chance to make new memories and revisit old ones through MTC’s yearbook.

Because MTC is more than a place for activities. It’s a community where persons with intellectual disability can build friendships, discover new interests and find a place to belong.

Here’s to 11 years of friendship, inclusion and meaningful connections — and many more memories to come! 💙

Follow @mindsmetooclub to see more of MTC’s journey and be part of the community.

What does inclusion look like through the eyes of two young people? 💙

Meet Jayce, 13, and Lyn, 10, siblings who decided to take on the Colours of Inclusivity’s Inclusion Challenge with their own fundraising initiative — Build for Inclusion. Their idea is simple but meaningful: use colourful bricks to build a MINDS masterpiece, with every donation helping to add pieces to the installation.

For Jayce, the idea came from wanting to “build” awareness for Persons with Intellectual Disability and create a fundraiser where every donor can feel like they are part of something together. For Lyn, learning more about Persons with Intellectual Disability inspired her to take action. She sees the different coloured bricks as a reminder that while everyone has their differences, “if we all work together we can be very powerful.”

Together, Jayce and Lyn hope to raise $13,000 to support MINDS. 💙

But perhaps the most meaningful part of their campaign is how they see inclusion.

As Jayce puts it, inclusion is not just about being around Persons with Intellectual Disability, it is also about giving them opportunities to participate, have fun and do things for themselves, rather than always doing things for them. And Lyn reminds us that inclusion means accepting one another, regardless of who we are or how we look.

🌟 Help Jayce and Lyn build for inclusion, one brick at a time.

What does impact look like? Sometimes, it starts with simply coming together. 💙

On 24 September, we brought together our partners for an evening of conversations, shared stories and new connections at Together for Impact – MINDS Partners Networking Event 2026.

Guests connected with the people behind MINDS’ work, discovered more about our initiatives and heard about how their support helps us create opportunities for persons with intellectual disability. The evening also took us into the world of Please Stand By, with a special keyboard performance by Jian Li from MeToo! Club setting the stage before the film screening.

It was more than an evening of networking. It was a reminder that meaningful change is built through people who are willing to come together, share what they can and find ways to make a difference.

To all our partners across the private, public and philanthropic sectors — thank you for being part of the journey. Here’s to what we can create, together. 💙

A special thank you to our supporting partners @zebrajojophotography, @papercarpenter, @scapesg and @lavishdine for helping us create a meaningful evening for our partners.

It’s a wrap! Here’s a look back at MINDS Film Festival 2026. 💙

Four days, eight screenings, two wonderfully relatable films, and so many lovely people who came through our doors.

From the tears during PLEASE STAND BY and the laughter during SUPER WANG WANG, to conversations that continued long after the credits rolled. Familiar faces returned, new friendships were made, and your kind words kept us going across both weekends.

A special thank you to our volunteers, who showed up with such generosity and energy throughout the festival. We truly couldn’t have made these four days happen without you.

And to our attendees, partners, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes who gave their time and support to the 9th MINDS Film Festival, thank you for being part of it.

We hope you left with good memories, a new perspective to carry with you, and perhaps a little more curiosity about the people around us.

Until we meet again at MINDS Film Festival! 🎬❤️

And just like that, MINDS Film Festival 2026 came to a close. ❤️

Our final day at Our Tampines Hub was made extra special as we welcomed Mayor @baeyyamkeng, who joined us to celebrate the festival, meet our community and learn more about MINDS’ work.

From visiting our booths to watching Yong Chuan bring a caricature to life, it was a meaningful way to end two weekends of films, conversations and shared experiences. Thank you to everyone who spent their Sunday with us, and to all who helped make our final day such a warm one.

We have plenty more moments and memories to share from all four days, so stay tuned for our festival wrap-up! 🎬

The most important part of healthcare is not always the treatment itself. Sometimes, it is helping someone feel safe enough to receive it.

For some persons with intellectual disability, a dental appointment can feel unfamiliar, overwhelming, or difficult to navigate. Sensory sensitivities, anxiety, and communication barriers can turn what seems routine into something deeply stressful. That is why inclusive care matters. 🤍

Together with Chua Foundation, MINDS is supporting a more thoughtful and accessible dental experience — one that prioritises patience, trust, and emotional safety alongside clinical care. 🦷

Through small but meaningful adjustments, from calmer environments to personalised support approaches, dental visits can become more comfortable, empowering, and positive experiences over time. Because healthcare should not only be efficient. It should help every person feel understood, respected, and cared for.

💛 Inclusion often begins with a simple question:
“What would help this person feel more comfortable here?”

How can technology help create more inclusive and independent living for persons with disabilities? 💙

This was the focus of Dell InnovateFest 2026, where student teams explored real-world challenges shared by MINDS and SPD.

For the MINDS challenge, students explored how technology could support persons with intellectual disability who experience communication difficulties: helping them express themselves, communicate their needs and navigate everyday interactions when communication breaks down.

Over six weeks, the teams visited care facilities, spoke with persons with disabilities and gathered feedback as they developed and refined their solutions using AI and cloud-native technology.

By listening to people with lived experiences and understanding their everyday needs, the student teams explored how human-centred innovation can help create technology that supports greater participation and independence.

We’re glad to have contributed our community’s perspectives to this initiative and to see students bring their skills and creativity towards exploring solutions for a more inclusive Singapore. 💙

Thank you to @Dell, the student teams, mentors and everyone who contributed to this meaningful collaboration.
