Revolution’s @r_evolution.sg tasting menu takes you from dashi and smoked eel to kerabu, laksa, XO and Sichuan flavours — without feeling tied to one cuisine.

The grilled kinmedai came with savoy cabbage, crevette and a creamy uni-laksa foam, while the yellowtail kingfish was fresh and bright with kerabu salsa, lime-horseradish dressing and curry leaf oil.

I also added the grilled whole lobster tail XO fettuccine — springy pasta, rich XO sauce and smoky-sweet lobster. Definitely worth the +$68++.

For dessert, the osmanthus-yogurt parfait with ginger Chantilly, almond tuile and grape ended things on a lighter, refreshing note.

SKOSH @skosh.sg has opened a new concept at Scotts Square — SKOSH Hand Roll & Matcha Bar — and it’s all about freshly made hand rolls, Japanese matcha and little bites.

The hand rolls are made with Haenuki rice from Yamagata and roasted seaweed from Setouchi. Some of the ones I tried include Snow Crab with salted egg tempura bits and ponzu pearls, Torched Octopus with kimchi slaw, chilli flakes and almonds, and Hokkaido N34 with Wagyu striploin and yakiniku sauce.

You can get them individually from $4.50, or go for the 5-piece Tasting Menu ($32.80) featuring Snow Crab, Torched Octopus, Hokkaido N34, Aka Ebi and Negitoro.

And of course, there’s the matcha 🍵 Sourced from three regions in Japan, including Nishio, Shizuoka/Kagoshima and Uji, Kyoto, with different flavour profiles ranging from smooth and mellow to rich and deeply umami.

Jiang-Nan Chun’s @fssingapore refreshed Taste of Hong Kong menu is inspired by Chinese Executive Chef Alan Chan’s Cantonese roots, childhood memories and culinary journey in Singapore.

We tried a selection of dishes including:
🥟 Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumpling with Lava Quail Egg — juicy, savoury and with a molten quail egg centre
🥟 Steamed Pork Dumpling with Laksa Broth — a Cantonese classic with a distinctly Singaporean twist

SAVE THIS for your wedding dress shopping in Ho Chi Minh! 👰🏻‍♀️🇻🇳 Here’s what I learnt from my bridal shopping trip:

💰 Why I chose to shop in HCM
I’m based in Singapore, and wedding gown rentals here can already cost around USD550 (~S$740) per gown, so I decided to look into buying one instead. My eventual gown cost USD780 (~S$1,050).

🗣️ Language
I went to the studios by myself, and communication was surprisingly easy. They would ask if you’d require an English-speaking staff member when making your appointment.

✂️ Alterations
Only visiting for a few days? Alterations can generally be done in 1–2 days, depending on what needs to be changed, so factor this into your itinerary.

💡 My tip: Don’t buy at the first studio just because you found something you like. I ended up having a favourite from each studio and was VERY torn 😂 Seeing different silhouettes and styles also helped me figure out what actually suited me.

I’ve included the prices of the gowns I tried in the video so you can use them as a rough reference when planning your budget.

SAVE THIS if you’re an unagi lover 🥹🍱

Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa @unagi.yondaime.kikukawa_sg has opened its second Singapore outlet at Raffles City, and I got to try their new RCS-exclusive dish — the Unagi Mountain ($88++).

Two whole kabayaki unagi are stacked into a literal tower over warm rice, with that smoky, slightly crisp skin and tender, rich flesh from being grilled over binchotan charcoal. 🔥

I also tried their Hitsumabushi Set ($37++), a Nagoya classic that you can enjoy three ways — on its own, with condiments, or with dashi broth as ochazuke. My favourite way? Definitely with the broth poured over. 🤤
