POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s been almost 3 months since I was really any form of active on here and I thought it was finally time to explain why. I was born with a heart condition, which, to make a really long story short, powerlifting massively accelerates the rate at which my condition worsens. If I continued to lift I would need a valve replacement within 5 years, a replacement which would have to be repeated every 5-10 years following.

I’ve always known that I have this condition, and I’ve always known that powerlifting was bad for me. I didn’t understand the full scope of it, and I intentionally ignored the advice to stop lifting because I simply didn’t want to. I thought, but more accurately hoped, that I would naturally move on from this sport before I would be physically forced to. That obviously didn’t happen, and things don’t always happen how we wish.

I started lifting as a self conscious 15 year old who was lost and searching for meaning. The gym gave me that meaning. It gave me meditation, an escape, a community. If you’re still reading this (which if so, bravo and I appreciate you) please do not take this for granted and remember to enjoy what you do.

I’ve meet some incredible people through this sport, people that have changed me and built to into a better person. The PPL crew, the lfod community, and so many more. I’m eternally thankful to them for everything they’re given me and the community I’ve found here. @ericthestrong has been more then just a coach but someone that I’ve been able to turn to in moments of weakness knowing he is there and willing to help. Having the opportunity be a part of @hightidestrengthclub see it built from nothing into what it is now has been such an honor and pleasure. @cam.sbd was literally a day one gym partner, and getting to grow in this sport alongside you has been incredible and so rewarding. I can’t wait to see the heights you’ll reach and the goals you’ll accomplish.

While I’m not going to deactivate this account, I’ll be on here much less. If you want, you can follow my main. Otherwise, I’ll mostly just be reposting the wins of my friends on here. Love you all and thank you, it’s been a wonderful time by @shack.strength

“Doubles” block recap

1/2/1 with 200/150/240 for 590kg total

Squats was a big injury pr, not much else to it besides we will continue to climb.
Bench remains bench, and a fat pad is a pad that’s fat @sampty.power
Deads was supposed to be a double, but I lost my position when the bar bounced away from me after the first and my low back got into an ultra rounded position in which I wasn’t comfortable grinding. First rep was good tho🗿
10 more weeks to build on this

@ericthestrong @hightidestrengthclub by @shack.strength

“When we begin again”

155kgs / 341lbs Bench PR (+5kg/11lbs)
510lbs x2 Deadlift double PR (+3lbs)

Honestly, I don’t have much to say. This bench pr moved faster than 330 last block (which was also a pr), and 510x2 was my first deadlift pr in ~8 monthes. The rate of progress is increasing again, and I know that in
due time I will belittle these achievements.
Potentially 27 weeks out…

Thank you @akira.sbd for the spot, and the @purduepowerlifting team for a great lift today by @shack.strength

Yellow

150kg/330lbs (+2.5kg/5lb)
220kg/485lbs x2

330 and taking the yellow has been a long standing goal of mine, so to achieve it with 3 days left in the year feels very fitting. In 2025 I want the blue and beyond by @shack.strength

NE Regionals recap: I had my first bad meet and I’m happy about it!
5/9
597.5 @99.5

Squat: 1/3
215kgs / 474lbs (-10kg mpr)

Bench 2/3
142.5kgs / 314lbs (-2.5kg mpr)

Deadlift 2/3
240kgs / 529lbs (-10kg mpr)

It’s such a cliche to drop the good old “meet didn’t go as planned” and I’m happy I finally get to use it. Just had a bad day, things didn’t align but it is what it is. There were a lot of small and big factors that were not positively contributing, such as a 7 person flight (right above threshold for slowing loading), 3 meets within 7 months, and a moderate knee injury for the last 4 weeks of prep. Plus having to unrack, rerack (plates were sliding off) and unrack again my atpr (227.5/501) within the span of 20 secs wasn’t very beneficial for squats. Turns out Advil only works to a certain point lol. There’s still things to be proud of tho, as more than one occasion I really thought about dropping out or quitting powerlifting from the burnout I was experiencing, so to just make it to meet day and finish with a total is something.

@ericthestrong as always thank you, I wouldn’t have made it to this meet had it not been for you and your coaching, and even on a bad day we totaled almost 100kgs over what I did when we began together. Now it’s time to get swole

Lastly big thanks to @agent21emh @andrewgraves212 for running a great meet, along with all the spotters and loaders and myriad of other refs and workers.

If you’re still reading you’re beautiful people and I hope you have a great day by @shack.strength

It finally happened

501.5 Squat +2.5kg ATPR (first 500+ squat)
325 Bench +2.5kg ATPR

I’ve had this number in the back of my head for almost a year now, and we finally were able to take it. We’ve planned it twice in the past and had to change course each time, so to finally attempt and make it feels so damn good. Bench is benching, not as much to say here besides can’t wait to load the yellow meet day.
Also I apologize to anyone who was there this morning for my reaction, def was a little OD lmao

Week 4 Primaries
S: 491
B: 308
D: 507 x2 (double pr)
1306 / 592.5 training total

Hi guys! Been a min since I actually posted anything other than a story, but training has been going really well. Doing back to back meets is a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be, and I won’t lie the fatigue has been kicking my ass. Happy that we’re hitting these numbers when we still have 6 weeks to go, and looking for a nice total pr come June for regionals.

Big thanks to @brofessor__xavier and @jwelch_93kg for the spots and support!

2024 Maine State Championships

620kgs @ 99.5kgs bodyweight (32.5 kg PR)

Squat: 225kgs / 496lbs (20kg PR)
Bench: 145kgs / 320lbs (7.5kg PR)
Deadlift: 250kgs / 551lbs (5kg PR)
9/9 day

Full meet recap to come on my lifting page but for now I want to thank everyone for the support and love this prep. I wouldn’t be here without my team @hightidestrengthclub and the constant environment of striving for greatness, nor would I be anywhere near this point without @ericthestrong guidance and wisdom. 11 weeks till regionals, where we really show what the work has been for.

Massive shoutout to @jasonwentoutside for the insane meet day videography, and @agent21emh and @andrewgraves212 for the amount of work and passion they put into this meet. Simply put, the environment was incredible

Remember to always stay kind and be loving, and strive to be the best version of yourself. Stay positive and hopeful, good things are to come.

The finale of this prep

491x1 ATPR
315x1 Milestone ATPR (pound bar, 315.1)
A collection of the biggest moment from this prep

Fighting against the urge to write an essay in this caption, I’ll keep it short and sweet. This prep has been incredible. Lifetime bench PR today and numbers that. beginner me would’ve thought of as impossible. Thank you to everyone whose supported and brought energy, especially you @ericthestrong and @cam.90kg

The final effort

220/485 (11lb ATPR)

137.5/303 (ATPR match)

Today was probably the most emotional day of training I’ve ever had, in a good way. I’ve been feeling sick (second time in 3 weeks) and really just like not good, which made this such a mental battle of how much I really wanted it. 4 reds has been a goal of mine for the majority of my training career, so to finally hit it, on a day like today, put me on the verge of tears. I’m bringing everything to the platform in 4 weeks. 585/1289 training total this week, 2.5/6 under all time best.
