Im feeling overwhelmingly grateful at the moment for all of my opportunities in stand up paddling and for being able to travel the world doing a sport I love so much. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that races will actually be happening this year. I felt compelled to do a little throwback of all of my favorite racing shots that evoke so much emotions for me looking back at them. Here is a little series of them from my sprint win in London to scattered photos of New York, France and California! I couldn’t be happier to call Oahu my new home and training grounds for this next season of life and racing! On September 22 I had the opportunity to keynote the Kaiser Permanente Hawai‘i Region Leadership Summit in front of 300+ leaders from across the organization.
My talk was about courageous authenticity — choosing to move forward even when fear is present, being willing to be uncomfortable, and having the courage to start something before you feel fully ready.
A lot of you have followed my journey through paddling and foiling, and my entire talk was about this journey.
Going from being highly accomplished in SUP to becoming a complete beginner again in foiling was humbling in every possible way. So much falling. So much frustration. So many moments of wondering what I was doing.
And eventually, that journey led to foiling Moloka‘i to O‘ahu across the Ka‘iwi Channel.
That crossing became the thread I kept coming back to in my talk — not because it was easy, but because it represented what can happen when you keep showing up for something that scares you.
So I left the room with one question:
What is your Moloka‘i to O‘ahu?
What is the thing in your life that scares you, stretches you, or feels just outside your comfort zone… but you know you need to go after anyway?
The most cherished part of this experience for me were the amount of amazing people that came up to me after and shared how the story has impacted them in their life!!!

4 hours 53 minutes.
I wanted to quit more times than I can comfortably admit. I screamed, I cried, I fell, oh I FELL. The first 10 miles was borderline glassy, small rollers, not ideal foiling conditions lol. I popped up would pump for a couple minutes then go down. 10 miles of exhausting sprinting to get up on foil to then pump and go down. By the time decent bump started to arrive about 2 hours in I was exhausted- I wanted to quit but I couldn’t I had to do this. After about 3 hours in I realized I wouldn’t officially finish before the cut off point. I was crushed- I wanted to podium and I have been training so hard- but that’s the point- the Kaiwi gave me NOT what I wanted but what I needed- LESSONS. I had to finish this race for ME, for my future daughter, for all the other women that do hard shit and mostly because I started something I needed to finish. Fall, go down, look stupid, try something new, be uncomfortable, be SCARED, cry, be a beginner and always, ALWAYS get back up.

I wouldn’t change my first M2O crossing for anything, it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Thank you Molokai, thank you Kaiwi.

I am so proud of how I showed up for my first official Hawai’i Foil Race!!!
If you would’ve told me 2 years ago I would be competing in a water sport again I would literally never believe you!!! From paddling out in 6 foot gnarly waves at ADZ to having my first ever 0 fall run for 14 miles in crazy conditions, it is a testament to all that you can do when you put your mind to believing you are capable!
I started downwind SUP foiling about 1 year ago. I did my first Hawaii kai run October of last year and then my first no-fall hawaii kai run just in May.

Whatever your big, scary thing is you are thinking about doing- DO IT. That’s the whole point of life- going after big scary things that light your heart on fire. I asked myself in January of this year, what is the scariest but most incredible thing I can think of doing? Crossing the Ka’iwi Channel on a FOIL. Hell yeah. And i’m about to do that in 2 weeks from today. by @shaefoudy

The seabirds and rainbows joined me this morning as the sun was peaking over the ⛰️

The first Hawai’i Circuit foil race kicks off this weekend: Voyager Wet Feet 14 mile race from Alan Davis Beach to Kaimana Beach. I am so pumped to get the chance to be on the water and race with a ton of amazing people!!

Today consisted of an early Hawaii Kai run with the OG uncles, pop into work for a couple hours, and get off early to send another HK run.

I’m so GRATEFUL
