Congratulations to @edmfilmfest on wrapping its 40th festival this weekend, ten days of stories from Edmonton, across Alberta, and around the world. 🎬

Edmonton storytellers opened and closed the lineup. @lightning.cody’s @smudgetheblades, the Edmonton-shot hockey comedy that won @tiff_net’s Best Canadian Discovery Award, opened the festival. Funny Money: The Dane Cook Story from Edmonton’s @scoreg, produced by Adam Scorgie and @shanefen and directed by Brett Harvey, closed it with its Canadian premiere.

Thank you to every filmmaker, cast and crew member who shared their work this year, and to EIFF for partnering with us on the Creative Screen Business Summit.

Beyond proud to share that BIF NAKED has been nominated for 6 AMPIA Awards, including Best Feature Documentary! 🎬❤️

These nominations hit a little differently because this film had one hell of a journey getting to the screen.

For the first time in our history as a production company, we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to change directors during production. It wasn’t a decision we took lightly, but ultimately we had a responsibility to Bif, her story and the truth of her journey to make sure we got this film right.

And that’s when Pollyanna Hardwicke-Brown stepped up.

Pollyanna took on an incredibly difficult situation, grabbed the film with both hands and absolutely knocked it out of the park. She helped our team find the heart, honesty and voice this story deserved and, IMHO, helped turn it into one of the best documentaries our team has ever produced.

I couldn’t be prouder of Pollyanna and our entire crew. Every one of these nominations is incredibly well deserved, and I’m hoping like hell they get to bring a few Rosies home. 🏆

And then there’s Bif.

What an absolute Canadian treasure. ❤️ She trusted us with an incredibly personal story and was exactly who Canadians have loved for decades — fearless, funny, brutally honest, completely original and one of the most genuine sweethearts you’ll ever meet.

And while I’m at it… Bif Naked is LOOOOONG overdue for her rightful place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. 🇨🇦🤘

If you haven’t seen BIF NAKED yet, tune in this week on @superchanneltv.

So damn proud of this film, this team and the woman at the centre of it all. ❤️ by @shanefen

FUNNY MONEY: THE DANE COOK STORY. 🎬

PROUD AS HELL of what we created with this film.

First and foremost, huge respect and love to Dane Cook for having the courage and trust to let us tell this story, honestly, openly and without pulling punches. It’s incredibly personal, and that trust is something I’ll never take for granted.

My producing partner Rocky Mudaliar brought this project to us, and from there I got the opportunity to jump back into the trenches with Brett Harvey and Stephen Green, my OG creative hustler crew.

Almost 20 years of creating together. From The Union to Breaking Olympia and now Funny Money. We’ve travelled the world, told some incredible stories, inspired a few people along the way and somehow still genuinely LOVE doing this shit together.

A lot of people are already saying this is Brett Harvey and our team’s best work to date. Considering what we’ve made together, that’s saying A LOT.

But the biggest win for me has never been an award, review or headline. It’s that after all these years I still get to call this crew family and some of my dearest friends, and we still get to create together.

Couldn’t be prouder of this film.

Trailer link in my bio. Hope you dig it. 🙏

Can’t wait for the world to see FUNNY MONEY: THE DANE COOK STORY on Super Channel this November.
