AI slop could be eating your credibility one document at a time. Your coworkers and clients may not say anything right away but they're keep score every time you send them slop that creates more work for them.

I see this too often, someone uses AI to create a Word document, sends it along and considers the task complete. They might now read the whole thing word-for-word but it passes the skim test.

Then the next person opens it, makes one small edit and suddenly the formatting falls apart. Or someone generates a 38-page report and sends the whole thing to a colleague who now has a 20 minute reading task to answer a 30 second question.

AI can make us faster, but that speed becomes meaningless when the work we produce creates additional effort downstream. I think we need to look at AI productivity from the perspective of the person receiving the work. Is the document clean? Is the thinking clear? Can they immediately see what matters? Can they edit it without fighting with the formatting? Does it help them make a decision or take action? More content does not equal credibility.

Of course these are basic professional standards, regardless of whether AI was involved.

As AI has become a tool almost all professionals use to generate work, people are beoming much less tolerant of low-quality AI output. High quality output is 100% possible! Sending sloppy work repeatedly to clients, coworkers or partners eventually affects how they view your judgment.

One of the biggest AI mindset shifts is learning to embrace iteration.

The people getting the best results aren't expecting perfect answers. They're asking better questions, refining the output, and learning alongside the technology.

One of my favorite uses of AI is asking it to teach me how to do something instead of simply doing it for me.

That's where the real growth happens.

One of the smartest AI strategies I've seen focused on the process, not the platform.

Instead of relying on one AI tool, this organization built specialized assistants for different stages of the sales journey and integrated them directly into the workflow.

The result was simple.

People actually used them.

The best AI implementations don't just provide access to technology. They make it easy for people to use it at the exact moment it creates value.
