Blade Disarms ❓ always good to have 1 or 2 techniques in your pocket. They’re good drills, a great way to learn about the limitations and strengths of the body parts.
We can get fashionably cool with blade disarm and knife work, but cool doesn’t keep you out of hospital. Let’s be realistic and safe out there.

We go through gear cause they truly take a beating from students, travel, sweat and age. New focus mitts are like getting a new coat, fits snug and looks good and needs to match the need.
Now to test them….& @shanegibson

This comes from a lot of time on the range, self critique, being coachable and consistency….and the opportunity to apply on the streets when needed.

This guy, @shanegibson travels across borders to learn from Masters and compete.
So refreshing to see this dedication and staying open minded to all what Martial Arts has to give whether it be traditional or not.

You see some of the strangest occurrences at the range and makes you wonder what is the purpose? Push-ups and squats at Range?
What is some of the funniest or odd stuff you’ve seen at a range?

Many may think that these tools are for defense , lol officials, sporting with a common denominator of pulling a trigger. A very important factor of only one is being able to maintain it in your position hence the Course Weapon Retention.
To date, I’ve only seen two recommended trainers, and there may be more out there, @efcombatives @c4c_operator . I would recommend reaching out to these guys and attend one of their courses or contact www.oppsint.com in Canada

Note; we use decommissioned tools, decommissioned, CO2 tools, and blue g¥ns

Concepts from ops tactical self-defence training. This video displays the difference between traditional and street tactics
in traditional martial arts, we maintain form, accentuate moves that we get graded on. It has its place.
During an altercation, in order to win. your strikes and defence must be crisp and effective at the same time.
Doing more drills, slowing them down, allows the body and brain to connect the correct muscles that I needed to waste less energy and movement.

The instructor who taught us the Ultimate hook was a civil engineer. His mind was always designing, improving and then implementing then going back to the drawing board.

We spent hours on basics, got yelled at a lot for using too much power in the beginning.
It was a very different concept to grasp, to not punch with power…yet.

After weeks of repetition of fundamentals, it finally made sense and all we did was the Ultimate hook.

What do you look for when choosing an #edc blade?
Be mindful there are mass manufacturers out there who’s job is to get you caught up in consumerism and add fake claims to their blades, or change the grip or blade design stating it is a higher quality.
I’ve lost or loaned out so many blades, that I decided not to spend on STUFF anymore. I carry a basic workers blade that will do the job of a paramour or bush knife.

AI slop could be eating your credibility one document at a time. Your coworkers and clients may not say anything right away but they're keep score every time you send them slop that creates more work for them.

I see this too often, someone uses AI to create a Word document, sends it along and considers the task complete. They might now read the whole thing word-for-word but it passes the skim test.

Then the next person opens it, makes one small edit and suddenly the formatting falls apart. Or someone generates a 38-page report and sends the whole thing to a colleague who now has a 20 minute reading task to answer a 30 second question.

AI can make us faster, but that speed becomes meaningless when the work we produce creates additional effort downstream. I think we need to look at AI productivity from the perspective of the person receiving the work. Is the document clean? Is the thinking clear? Can they immediately see what matters? Can they edit it without fighting with the formatting? Does it help them make a decision or take action? More content does not equal credibility.

Of course these are basic professional standards, regardless of whether AI was involved.

As AI has become a tool almost all professionals use to generate work, people are beoming much less tolerant of low-quality AI output. High quality output is 100% possible! Sending sloppy work repeatedly to clients, coworkers or partners eventually affects how they view your judgment.

AI should help us produce better work faster but making sure the final output shipped builds credibility is on us.

We don’t train knife fights, we train strikes or defense.
It’s not as easy as it looks.
