Hi, I’m Charis ☺️

I would like to introduce myself officially by sharing a few things I love.

• I am the creator of A Saturday Morning (ASM), a faith based blog and podcast focused on emotional health and living with Christ.
• I love writing and encouraging people in their faith.
• I love Jesus and spending time in the Word.
• I love my family and I’ve started my own with my amazing husband and two dogs.
• I love to travel. I’ve been to five countries and trust I will be visiting more!
• I am currently a registered nurse and I recently got accepted to medical school. Crazy right?!
• I love to do anything fun. Museums, hiking, shopping, trying new restaurants, or a night in with take out.

That’s just a glimpse into my life. I hope you stick around :)

Using this cute video as an excuse to introduce the writing that I’m most proud of 🤭

I rediscovered one of my journals from 10 years ago and realized I’ve always been a writer. I’ve been walking with the Lord for a while and He’s been refining my writing voice without me even being aware. And now I have a safe space to write freely on Substack. The link is in my bio :)

(Slide to the end for an accurate depiction of me on the inside (Tisha Campbell) and me on the outside (her son) as I’m sharing my writing for the first time on here🥹) by @shankennnn

The fact that a year has already passed is driving me crazy lol. 2025 definitely had somewhere to be 😮‍💨

BUT my locs have grown and matured so much so that’s ok. Cheers to being loc’d in 😌 by @shankennnn

I love Sundays 🥹

James 1:17 — “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].”

I had the wedding of my dreams one year ago and wouldn’t have changed a thing. I married my favorite person surrounded by family and friends (and cows).

From the food to the photography to the makeup to the venue I couldn’t have asked for more. THE LORD IS SO KIND AND GENEROUS.

Venue: @magnoliameadowfarms
Food: @judys_island_grill and my MIL
Makeup: @makeupbyjayastudio
Dress: @meshki
Hair: @cyndy_hairbraiding
Photography: @ohmyjoyy

Since we’ve been married for a year, my husband and I decided to record an episode for A Saturday Morning Podcast. Available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts

Hi ☀️

I’ve been busy working hard and honoring God in medical school. Already seven weeks in and I am still grateful the Lord keeps His promises.

BUT, as you can see from today’s post there is a very special guest who stopped by the podcast. @chartia.fhg I had the privilege of talking to Chartia about faith and becoming more like Jesus. I hope it blesses you as much as it blessed me :)

Available tomorrow at 10 am wherever you listen to podcasts.

I had my white coat ceremony on Saturday, which means I’m one step closer to being a doctor. I accepted the oath and now it’s time to do the work.

The Lord has been EXTREMELY faithful. You can listen to my testimony on A Saturday Morning Podcast. ☀️

Thank you to my family and my man for riding with me to this point. by @shankennnn

This spring/summer has been fruitful. Tried something I never saw myself doing and I’m enjoying it. Turns out I’m pretty good at it too. Here’s to trying new things 🥂
