Another fashion week, another catwalk analysis💫

This NYFW was definitely one of my favourites. My favourite of said favourites was definitely @maisonalaia - from the stunning architecture at the show to those zipper/button free structural dresses, it was one for the books.

This year’s catwalk showed off asymmetric lines, a lot of midriffs, excessive fringes and fluffy waistlines🧚🏽‍♀️

Curated by Makerversity co-founder Paul Smyth, the exhibition showcased groundbreaking projects from designers tackling some of today’s most pressing challenges. From devices that recycle waste to fabrics grown from bacteria, every innovation on display was a step toward a better, more sustainable future.

One standout for me was the Menstrual Neuromodulation Headband by @samphireneuro designed to relieve chronic pain, depression, and anxiety through gentle electrical impulses. As someone who’s experienced these issues, this innovation felt like a game-changer for women’s health. 💡

Another highlight was the @enayball a drawing device empowering those with limited mobility to create independent artworks. Watching choreographer Kimberley Harvey create art in real-time using the Enayball was a beautiful reminder of how vital creative expression is for everyone, regardless of physical ability. 🎨

The exhibition wasn’t just a display of creativity; it was a beacon of hope. In a world that often feels uncertain, it’s comforting to know that kind, compassionate, and human-centered change is not only possible but on the horizon.🌟 by @sharaiwhitecreative

A recent play around with some product applications. Both of these are sub-themes of a wider macro for 2025/26 all about rewilding and connecting back to the earth🤍.

Natural dyes, artistic surfaces and herbal influences all reflect an appreciation for nature, and celebrates the role that nature can play in the creative-making process.

Showcasing the history and impact of functional clothing, or workwear, that often gets overlooked, the exhibition celebrates the utilitarian. I absolutely loved this exhibition because it brought up ideas of class and labour whilst tying in art and design.

I learned so much about the history of workwear and the purpose it served different professions, and it was incredible to see how it evolved over the years✨ by @sharaiwhitecreative
