Why is Sharon not surfskating this week?? Because Sharon got the bad iceberg lettuce and is battling cyclospora. For my US folks, the outbreak keeps expanding so just avoid iceberg lettuce, especially if it's shredded at any sort of restaurant or food place. I'm on the good antibiotics now and I've never been so happy to trust my toots. This week of Sharon Doing Things: Lots of surfskate drills and progress. Long video but edited. It's hot and humid, takes an hour to warm-up and then my legs are like 'nope.' Found flow by the end though, love the challenge. Coach Seb sent such encouragement and analysis. @thesurfskateacademy @sebsurf_skatecoachBox of Doofy Mail arrived from Papas Place for FIV+ Cats 😍 They are Facebook so give them a follow and support their work. @lilli_barrett1414 made me a gorgeous crocheted pillow which she's talented and sweet 🫶Show and Tell quilt top done! Hand quilting to finish so... Going to be a bit #quilting #WIPIn memory of Steve's Skate Explosion, passed last week. Donate to @theskateparkproject and encourage you to watch his YouTube videos, he was key inspiration for me. We were same age, birthdays only a few days apart, both tall, big feet, so his board recommendations fit well. One day I'll be able to skate bowls and relish the undulations. by @sharon_doing_things

2 years ago I was 87 pounds heavier and doubt I would have been able to do this surfskate drill. I still struggle with understanding where my center of gravity lives but coach Seb @thesurfskateacademy biomechanical approach resonates with me and I'm progressing and having FUN! At 53 I progress more slowly but I don't stop. Surfskate drills prescribed by coach @sebsurf_skatecoach making progress. Forgot I left in a bit where I was 'getting down' but just roll with it! Video analysis has been awesome and I can see where to improve. Having coach Seb review feels encouraging. Also it's so hot and humid. Finally a break in the heat and rain for a session focused on new @flowstate_surfskate Zen board working on movement drills from @sebsurf_skatecoach lessons. Zen board very responsive and my feet feel at home.
