Happy Gotcha Day to the most handsome baby boy in the whole wide world! 🥹

A year ago today you sent me a sign when the Humane Society of Summit County called to let me know they approved my foster app. I knew you wanted me to open your backyard and my heart to some puppers who needed a safe place to learn how to dog again. Since then we’ve had Miss Rita, Kirby Baby, Pretty Ricochet, and Northy come hang out and fill the house with fur, farts, and fun. Just like you. And next month we’ll have someone new!

We usually got hamburgers on your birthday, but I decided that today was the day to finally put my foster wall up. I’ll add a frame every time I bring a new foster baby home to roam your backyard.

Back in 2024 I got covid. It wasn’t a bad case (cuz vaccines work hard and so does my doctor! 🤣) but the aftermath of it messed up my lungs. I went from being a former lifeguard and brass player to having to breathe every other measure while singing. It was devastating and because of it, I haven’t done a singing role since (OFG doesn’t count…that was chanting with pizzazz lol). Over the last few years I’ve been working to build my lung capacity back up and my voice has changed. My break moved, my lack of singing made me lose connection with my mix, and my breath control is still a work in process. But Dawn said….and…..? 🤣 For some reason this crazy lady decided to put her faith in me to pull off not only a singing role…but a role written for a soprano. So talk about being forced to have breath control and connection with your mix 😅 But when Dawn says that she trusts you and believes in you…you kinda just do it. Cuz even if you can’t, you know you’re in a space that’s safe to try. by @sharonelizjackson

The wise prophet, Ani Solomon, once said, “if you fall down at work, you get to go home”. These are words that I have lived by for many a year. But alas. What do you do when you fall down at home. And then fall down again when you’re trying to get up from your first fall? 🤣 I’m thinking it’s not go to a 4 hour rehearsal…so I decided to end the day with some ice for my ankle and some ice cream for my soul.

This is what I get for betraying my truth as a millennial. As a clumsy millennial, skinny jeans and leggings have saved my life. You can’t trip yourself in a pant leg if said pant leg is plastered to your tibia! 🤣 So if you see me hobbling around this weekend. Mind ya business. 🤣 by @sharonelizjackson

Hallway and two walls/baseboard are done, minus touch ups. After rehearsal I gotta do another coat of yellow and then baseboards. I was having buyers remorse on the yellow…but…I’m digging it!! Almost tempted to paint the rest of the living room yellow! lol by @sharonelizjackson

On today’s docket. Hair appointment, pharmacy, early voting, finish painting the living room, and then rehearsal. Hopefully the last busy day of my staycation. And then I can just chill. And then Friday I’ll have my new couch!! by @sharonelizjackson
