POSTS STORIES REELS

I never imagined I’d be reading my own book on a plane to New York.

It was the print proof, tucked into my bag, and somewhere between take-off and landing I found myself reading it as a reader, not a writer. Making a few notes. Sitting with the words. Letting it feel real.

Taking my book to New York felt like a quiet milestone. Not loud or showy, just one of those moments where you pause and acknowledge how far something has come.

This book was written alongside real life. Work, parenting, doubt, learning, holding things together. And at its heart, it isn’t about washing at all.

It’s about noticing what we carry.
The stories we repeat.
The habits we stay stuck in.
And how small, gentle shifts can change far more than we think.

I’ll share more about what this book is really about over the coming weeks, but for now this moment felt worth marking.

Pre-orders will be opening very soon, with some lovely bonuses for early readers. I’ll share all the details shortly.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, wherever you are and whatever this season looks like for you. ❤️🙏🎄

When I photograph an event, I’m drawn to the moments that tell you how it felt to be there.

It may be the laughter during a conversation or a thoughtful expression as someone shares their experience. That knowing smile when a story resonates.

Women Who Rise, hosted by Michelle Ford at Hithe & Seek, the beautiful bar at The Westin London City, was full of those moments.

It was an intimate setting, with guests gathered around as Michelle interviewed Alexis Strum, Starling and New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author B.A. Paris. Guest speakers included Dame Kelly Holmes and Sara Davison, while live performances from Alexis and Starling brought even more energy to the evening.

I wanted to capture the people and their stories, alongside the warmth and connection in the room.

And I thoroughly enjoyed being part of it. Between photographs, I listened, laughed and had some wonderful conversations with women I was delighted to meet.

That’s something I love about photographing events. Paying close attention to people’s expressions and interactions draws you into the experience. You notice the responses to an honest story, the encouragement people offer and the conversations that continue afterwards.

There’s real value in women coming together like this. Hearing how someone else has navigated setbacks or pursued an ambition can prompt a different way of looking at your own experiences.

Sometimes a conversation gives you an idea, a useful connection or simply the reassurance that someone understands.

The evening also supported The Dash Charity, which helps people affected by domestic abuse, and of which Sara Davison is a patron. A meaningful cause at the heart of a gathering that celebrated women’s voices and experiences.

Thank you, Michelle, for bringing us together for such a wonderful, uplifting and genuinely fun evening. It was a pleasure to capture it and to share in it.

At the Forbes Books Legacy Supper, we brought 20 people of influence around one table and came back to the heart of what a book can do: carry your knowledge, ideas and experience into someone else’s life.
We asked each guest: What expertise are you sitting on that could add value to other people’s lives?
Then we took the thought further. If that expertise became a book, what might its working title be? Who would it be for? Who would you dedicate it to, and who would you dream of writing the foreword?
The questions opened up something bigger than a book idea. They invited people to look again at what they know, why it matters, and how it could serve others. To think about writing their legacy as something they can actively shape and share now.
There’s something powerful about a physical book: a lasting, tangible way to bring ideas to life and give people the chance to spend time with them.
When we return to the core of what we do, we can find a deeper sense of purpose in it, and a story worth telling. @the_authority_company

Last night marked the first supper in our new partnership with Forbes Books.

Together with @lucymccarrahermbe we brought 20 founders, leaders and decision-makers around one table to explore the experiences that have shaped how they lead today and the stories they may one day choose to leave behind.

From pivotal life moments to imagined book titles, dedications and the people we would want writing our forewords, the evening became a conversation about sharing in our purpose and legacy.

Because sometimes the story you have lived is also the story only you can tell.

A powerful first chapter for The C-Suite x Forbes Books.

If you are interested in learning more about this supper series and or getting your book published by Forbes Books UK, send us a direct message.

We used to think luxury was defined by the loudest room or the most extravagant spectacle.

But around the table at 60 Pall Mall, the resounding consensus was something much simpler:

Luxury is time.

Time to breathe.

Time to listen.

Time to build real, unhurried connections in a world that rarely slows down.

Steeped in history and quiet elegance, 60 Pall Mall holds a very special atmosphere. It doesn’t need to shout to make a statement, its magic is in the understated warmth that allows people to simply be present.

Here’s to the spaces that give us time back, and the connections that make every moment count.

✨ Swipe through for a glimpse into an evening built on connection, history, and understated luxury.

As we head towards the end of September, with October just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to move from one month to the next without really noticing.

We’re often so busy thinking about the next deadline, the next goal or simply the next thing that needs doing that we rarely stop to take stock of where we actually are.

I don’t necessarily believe that the start of a new month means we suddenly need to reinvent ourselves, set a whole load of new goals or declare that this is going to be our fresh start.

But I do think these little markers in time can give us a reason to stop for a moment, look up and adjust our view.

So much of our attention is naturally focused on what’s directly in front of us that we don’t always take the time to look at the bigger picture and ask whether the choices we’re making are actually taking us towards the life we want to be living.

Because ultimately, it’s not only the big, life-changing decisions that shape our lives.

It’s all those seemingly insignificant choices we make every day, what we give our time and energy to, what we continue to carry and what we finally decide we’re ready to let go of.

So as October is almost upon us, perhaps the question isn’t what you need to change or achieve next month, but simply what do you want to take with you, and what are you ready to leave behind?

I don’t think we ever truly appreciate the value of a photograph at the moment it’s taken.

At the time, it might just be a group of people standing together, a family gathering, a celebration, friends laughing, or someone reluctantly agreeing to get in the picture.

But then time passes, people change, children grow up, friendships evolve and sometimes people are no longer here.

And suddenly that photograph means something completely different.

I think that’s what I love so much about photography. We capture these moments in the present without really knowing what they might mean to us in the future.

Because sometimes the photographs that feel quite ordinary today become the ones we treasure most tomorrow.

What photos do you treasure that you hadn’t realised would be so important to you at the time?
