POSTS STORIES REELS
An experience I’ll remember forever From the climbs and descents adding to 17,000 ft. of elevation gain to starting at 4am and finishing at 2am the next day From the incredible volunteers to all the strong runners I met along the way From the highest highs and lowest lows to the mental skills I used to just keep moving forward Above all, my favorite part was seeing my crew at every aid station and running with my pacers @elimorris13 & @codytaylorperformance. Their support and energy kept me going and they worked just as hard as I did Thank you @vermont100mile 🙌🏼 Can’t wait to continue celebrating this and share SO much more! . . #mentalrunner #100miles #ultrarunners #rungoals #ultrarun by @shatteredrunner
More visibility on women crushing it in marathons and ultras please!! I started The Run, Shattered Podcast for 2 main reasons: 1. Bring a professional voice to mental performance in running that stems from education, experience, and research to help all runners train their mental skills deliberately 2. Build a platform where women feel comfortable sharing their running experiences to create lasting visibility, inclusion, and inspiration Season 3 is coming up SOON and I already have some incredible runners’ stories to share 🙌🏼 DM me if you’re interested in sharing your experience training and using mental skills to shatter your goals. And share this with anyone you want to see featured! . . #mentalskillstraining #womensrunning #mentalrunner #runpodcast #runnerscommunity by @shatteredrunner
Hi! I’m Sierra - the name behind Shattered Runner 🤘🏼 It’s been over a year since I introduced myself and I’ve connected with so many incredible people in that time. So here we go: I’ve always been interested in human limits and the power of the mind. I’m constantly pushing myself physically and mentally to see what I’m capable of With my masters in sport and performance psychology, I’ve provided resilience and mental skills training for athletes, US army soldiers and leadership, and now I do the same at the University of Alabama I started running at the end of 2021 after playing collegiate and semi-professional rugby for 8 years Since then, I’ve ran 8 marathons including 2 major marathons (Chicago & Boston), a handful of half marathons, and recently started running trails In 2025, I ran Boston and PR’d with a 3:05. I’m looking at breaking 3 hours within the next year In September 2025, I started The Run, Shattered Podcast to share mental skills and techniques you can use to shatter your goals and connect with runners who are already training these skills At the end of 2025, I paced my mom with my sisters in their first ever marathon @everywomansmarathon we will be back next year! In April 2026, I ran my first 50-mile trail race at Lake Martin 50 (shout out @setrailruns for an awesome race) finishing 1st female, 2nd overall, and 2+ hours under my goal I’m preparing for my first 100-miler in July 2026 @vermont100mile which is where I spent a lot of time skiing and hiking growing up I’m here to positively contribute to the running community, share my love of running, and help you strengthen your mental skills so you can shatter your limits - whatever that looks like! by @shatteredrunner
Next weekend I’m racing a trail marathon! The mental prep is just as important as the physical prep so this week I’m focusing on: - Setting my race strategy which will direct my focus, determine how much energy to spend, and be in the moment during the actual race - Embracing the challenge because I know the race will be tough… There’s almost 6,000 ft of elevation gain for 26 miles! - Sprinkling in some fun too by running with people or switching up my route keeps me excited and motivated I have 2 main goals for this race… stay tuned! 👀 . . #mentalrunner #mentalskillstraining #runningmotivation #trailrun #marathontraining by @shatteredrunner
Always finding that type 2 fun Run together, ski somewhere amazing, ride bikes everywhere, sign everyone up for a marathon, make your family bike while you run… I’m always trying to keep my family healthy and thankfully it’s not that hard to convince them because it’s fun So start planning your holiday vacation now and do something active! . . #runningmotivation #running #type2fun #healthylifestyle #runnergirl by @shatteredrunner
Make sure your self-talk is working for you not against you When you’re going for a big race goal, you have to focus on what you can control and you can always control your thoughts Change your thoughts to support your confidence and shatter your goals 🤘🏼 . . #mentalrunner #mentalskillstraining #rungoals #run #raceday by @shatteredrunner
Running is too amazing to hate! Seriously though, if you don’t love it yet just slow your pace down and work on your self-talk or breathing. You’ll feel so much better! The more you do anything, the more automatic it becomes so give it time and keep working on your mental skills You can even train your mental skills with me, an experienced & educated mental performance practitioner. Message me for details! . . #mentalrunner #mentalskillstraining #runningmotivation #runnergirl #run by @shatteredrunner
Add imagery to your training to level up your physical, strategic, and mental preparation! Engage all 5 of your senses (rather than just visualization) to make it as real as possible and optimize the benefits Reach out if you’re interested in training your mental skills for your next race and check out The Run, Shattered Podcast for mental training strategies and race recaps Reel format inspired by @9irlnews 🙌🏼 . . #mentalskillstraining #runningmotivation #mentalrunner #runnergirl #rungoals by @shatteredrunner
Give me a group run with a good sunrise and I’ll be up at 4am any day! These are the type of runs that make me feel energized no matter how far and fast I go and that keep my love for running alive ❤️‍🔥 . . #mentalrunner #runningmotivation #morningrunner #runlife #mentalskillstraining by @shatteredrunner
We spend so much time playing that “what if” game But what about imaging everything going so well? What if you are ready? What if your race goes to plan? What if you have the best time? This is so important as you prepare for your next race to keep your confidence high, your focus on what’s important, and your energy where it needs to be Next time you think about all the things that could go wrong, think about how it might go right! . . #mentalrunner #runningmotivation #mentalskillstraining #runlife #rungoals by @shatteredrunner
Saying yes to something you’ve never done before can be scary! It could also be an incredible experience. It’s all about your perspective and how you think about it That’s how I was confident enough to say yes to pacing my coach 73 miles of his 200 miler… something completely new to me The best way to mentally prepare for something you’ve never done before is with productive self-talk Be curious, be present, and be open to the possibility that it could be great . . #mentalrunner #mentalskillstraining #runningmotivation #rungoals #ultrarunners by @shatteredrunner
If you’re running a race this fall make sure you soak in that finish line feeling I always look at my medal or award before taking that picture to acknowledge all the hard work I put in to earn it Embrace your moment at the finish line with your medal, appreciate your effort, and take that picture! . . #mentalrunner #runningmotivation #running #marathonrunner #ultrarunners by @shatteredrunner
