It's been just magical to see what the team here can make possible, and how much care goes into every corner.

This is a very cherished and beloved spot on the farm, a private sanctuary where nature does what it does best... restore, reset, and remind us of what truly matters.

Whether you're after a solo escape, a romantic retreat, or an adventure with good friends and muddy walking boots, this is your place.

Tucked at the water's edge, deep in the heart of 2,000 acres of organic farmland, The Boathouse is a place to breathe again. Expect birdsong, stillness, and if you time it just right, bluebells carpeting the ancient woodland right next door 💜

A place becomes a home when people gather there with intention.

For a few days this October 2-4th, Sheepdrove organic farm will act as our home.

We will eat organic locally sourced food.
Plant wildflower bulbs
Foraging for mushrooms
Learn to tend fire together

Listen to epic music.

The venue is not the backdrop to Primal. It is the gathering, and what we coalesce to hold us in community.

This is where we’ll make memories together, share stories, gather around the fire and celebrate eight years of Primal.

In a summer of extreme drought, this dew pond has become a lifeline.

Motion-activated cameras have captured a steady stream of visitors seeking out one of Sheepdrove’s restored dew ponds this year — a grey partridge couple, a flock of lapwings, and a pair of sparring young foxes among them.

Both grey partridge and lapwing are Red-listed on the UK Birds of Conservation Concern list — the highest conservation priority, given severe, long-term population crashes across the UK. In drought conditions like these, water sources like this one aren’t just nice to have — they can determine whether farmland species survive at all.

To understand exactly how wildlife is using this pond, naturalist Nick Adams of TN Wildlife installed trail cameras to track visitors over time.

This dew pond was restored as part of a wider habitat-creation project — Sheepdrove was one of nine partners collaborating under Partnerships for Nature, led by @northwessexdowns funded by @defrauk Species Survival Fund, and administered by @heritagefunduk taken in Sheepdrove Organic Farm & Green Events Venue by @sheepdrove

went to a residential with a bunch of fellow neurodivergent eco-activists and somehow came home with:

📸 approximately 847 photographs 🐦 several new bird facts 🧠 600 new ideas 🌱 a renewed belief in community 🎨 an alarming amount of enthusiasm for making things 🦡 a deep emotional attachment to badger watching ☕ probably too much coffee ✨ and the slightly magical feeling of having found your people

anyway…Renew happened!!

with all the silliness, I think there’s something really important about Renew:
this is how we build action.
We need to organise. We need to campaign. We need to make change.
But we also need to breathe.
To make things. To notice birds. To draw. To laugh until you’re wheezing. To rest. To eat good food. To meet people who just get it. To have ideas that wouldn’t have happened if we’d spent the whole time trying to be productive.

Community, creativity and care aren’t distractions from organising. They’re part of how we keep going 🌱

Anyway, I’m home now and my camera roll is basically 90% birds, plants and people I love, so I’d say Renew was a success.

Huge love to everyone who made it what it was — especially Emma and Ellie, absolute superstars ⭐

And thank you to Sheepdrove Organic Farm for giving us such a gorgeous place to be together.

In case you missed it, we're spending a whole day at Sheepdrove Organic Farm this Autumn and we'd love you to join us.

Renew take 3 🎬 the seed of an idea that was sown, and has been truly nourished, tended to and grown into something beyond my wildest imagination 🌱

When Ellie and I set out to create this collective, we hoped to provide a space for young climate & nature activists to recharge, unmask and tend to their own garden, without the expectation on their shoulders of saving the world 🌏

I am in tears writing this because of the bonds that were formed this week, honesty, so much laughter, joy and silliness 💛

Being a climate activist has brought me so much, but has often come at the expense of my health & healing. This week just proved why we should all have time out of our busy lives to reconnect with nature, our childlike selves, to play, learn and get offline.

So much gratitude to everyone in the collective, and especially to @sheepdrove for all the team has provided 💛🦋🪴🌸 taken in Sheepdrove Organic Farm & Green Events Venue by @sheepdrove

On October 2-4th we’ll be coming together for Primal Harvest Gathering!

We will learn:
• How to forage for edible mushrooms
• Learn ancient ways of fire tending
• The art of bee keeping
• Elderberry picking and medicine making
• How to nurture a regenerative farm
• Run a sacred business
• Transform tension into connection
• and much more…

It’s three days of land learning, folk music, and foraged banquet meals. Fires, shared songs.

Everything is designed with intention and reciprocity, creating a weekend where you can experience the land, meet wonderful people, and contribute to something that outlives your contribution and lives on, on the land.

The harvest is in 🌾🌼🚜

Spring Oats, Winter Oats, Spring Wheat and Beans, Winter Wheat, Rye, Hay Bales, Straw Bales, Wildflower Meadow Seeds!

Well done to all the farmers, growers and landy folk who made it through this year. The fields were like tinder, let's hope this is a wake-up call for action on sustainable agriculture.

As an organic mixed farm, with a bit more resilience built in, we're lucky our crops have done well. It's still very concerning though, never before have we not needed to dry crops as they came in. This is not normal.

This is exactly why a diverse, resilient organic rotation matters so much. Cereals, legumes and pollinator support aren't just individual crops, together they build healthier soil, richer wildlife, and a farm that can better withstand extremes like this. It's food production and nature working as one system.

We need a lot more conversations to support farmers in building nature into their practices, investing in water management, and planning ahead to grow through these extremes.

We're just glad we got it all in, safely. Just the mower on the grass, catching the odd stone that sparked a few times that caught fire, small enough to stamp out with our feet.

This is the first downpour of rain we've seen for months 💦

The drizzles before it were a promise, now the rain is keeping it. We are hoping this rain comes steady as it falls, so the land can accept it.

The fields are parched, thirsty for a few more spells like this before they are truly heathly again.

More showers are forecast here, theres a good chance of more rain to come.

If it keeps up, the grass has a real shot at recovering before winter sets in, and our grazing animals will get a good munch in too. taken in Sheepdrove Organic Farm & Green Events Venue by @sheepdrove
