The Bruins faced the Long Eaton Storm in the first away series of the year.

After a difficult first few innings, the Bruins found some momentum behind the work of Kaz Ito on the basepaths. After a strong rally, and 2 strong innings of shut out Baseball by Pitcher Josh Taylor, the Bruins sadly fell short to Long Eaton in their first away game of the season.

"We were unlucky. We found a way to be more systematic, play station to station Baseball and credit to Long Eaton they held on."

Game two saw the Bruins push hard against the Long Eaton lefty who was rattled for 7ER through just 2.1 IP. The Long Eaton bullpen had similar issues to their starter, with their arms giving up 19 runs, 15 earned through a 5-inning blow out.

📣 Weekend Results + MVPs 📣

The Bruins delivered a knockout performance, taking both wins against the @leicester_blue_sox through the 5-inning mercy ruling.

We caught up with Game 1 MVP Sol Redo for his thoughts - "Couldn't have asked for a better start with the Sheffield Bruins—no-hitter through 5 innings in my debut with 8 strikeouts in a mercy-rule win. Fired up to be part of this squad and grateful for the opportunity. Still more in the tank and a few things to clean up, but I'm ready to keep shoving all season and help the team win."

In Division 4, the Kodiaks had a solid opening weekend, splitting wins with @leedslocos II. They showcased some promising rookie performances that bode well for the season ahead.

Game 1 MVP Kirstie Wright had this to say - "This was a fantastic season opener for the Kodiaks. While I’m certainly happy with the seven strikeouts, I’m even more impressed by our large group of rookies. Seeing them step up, making key plays and driving hits, is a promising sign for the future of this team."

Let's go Bruins!
