Pt. 2 | S T R O N G | 💪

A little over two years ago, I had a very serious — but successful — spine surgery on my L5/S1. A bulging disc near my tailbone was pressing on a nerve that sent pain straight down my leg to my foot.

After six months of debilitating nerve pain, mental exhaustion, steroid injections, and eventually surgery… the nerve pain was finally gone. But what I didn’t expect to stick around was the fear — that PTSD-like “what if I hurt myself again?” feeling — and my heart rate constantly spiking like my body was always on high alert.

I was burned out. At a time I should’ve leaned into PT and rebuilding my strength I chose to shift my focus, heart, and time into a new relationship.

With me turning 40 this year, it’s time to focus on gaining back strength.

Naturally I’m scared.
Scared my body will re-injure.
Scared I won’t be able to take myself to the next level.
Scared to do this alone.

But I’m even more scared of standing still…

So 2026 I’m choosing #STRONG —
Strong enough to trust my body again.
Strong enough to stay consistent even when it’s slow.
Strong enough to rebuild.

Growing up, society naturally paints a timeline to follow.

Milestones to reach.

A road that’s supposed to look a certain way.

But what happens when you find yourself off that beaten path?

It’s in that moment you wake up and realize the “right” path was simply the one society taught you to follow.

The truth is, God doesn’t paint everyone’s path the same.

His path can be unexpected, messy, slower than you imagined, and completely different from the people around you. And honestly, I 100% believe that’s to your advantage.

Sure, there may be moments of insecurity, uneasiness, or feeling like you’re the only one who has ever been on this particular path.

But that’s a lie.

Keep lacing up.

Dig your heels in deep for the courage to trust the path God is calling you toward rather than follow a road just because everyone else says it’s the right one.

Here’s to taking the road less traveled, trusting His timing, and remembering that different doesn’t mean behind.

And if you need someone to rally for you. You call me. 🤙🏼🤍
