Sundays just got a new soundtrack in Marrakech.

Introducing Sol Sundays, a new residency on the El Fenn rooftop.

Shems is behind the decks every other Sunday from 11th October. Surrounded by turntables growing up in London and Marrakech, with a father at the heart of the UK’s 90s acid house scene. He picked up his first decks at 15 and hasn’t looked back.

Now he’s taking over our rooftop for Sol Sundays, every fortnight through the Autumn rooftop season. Expect a global, genre-hopping selection, a funky crowd and the Atlas Mountains keeping watch.

Every ticket includes a signature El Fenn cocktail of your choice 🍸

@shemsynwa - Shems is a British-Moroccan DJ raised between London and Marrakech. Influenced early on by his father, a DJ in the UK acid house scene, he developed a deep passion for music, later refining his skills through years of piano before turning to DJing at 18.

His sound blends house, techno, minimal, and drum & bass, creating a dynamic and versatile musical identity. After early experiences in Bristol and a year performing in Mexico, Shems returned to Marrakech, where he founded @elektrokesh and curated events alongside artists such as Dan Andrei, DJ Deep, and Jimpster.

He has held residencies at key venues across Morocco and hosts a weekly radio show, Sunrise with Shems, on Ness Radio. Now based in Berlin, he continues to evolve his sound, performing at iconic venues like About Blank and Sisyphos.

Driven by a passion for underground culture, Shems creates sets that connect, inspire, and move people.

We are excited to welcome him for the first time at Groover Club, where he will take over the daytime from 1PM to 4PM.

🔙 PAST EVENT

THIS SATURDAY — Febrary 28 @kabana.marrakech

🔥 *SHEMS* 🔥

22:00 - 01:30 @shemsynwa (Roofloor)

Shems is a British and Moroccan Dj who grew up in London and Marrakesh. His passion for music started a young age having developed his culture in all different genres of music with help from his Dad who was a big DJ under the name DEM2 in the UK acid House scene in the late 80s, early 90s. He played the piano for 6 years as a teenager before switching to Djing at 18.

He has crafted a unique electronic music signature, blending house, techno, minimal as well as drum and bass in his sets, making him a truly dynamic and versatile performer. Shems started playing in intimate parties in Bristol before moving to Mexico where he performed in several different bars and clubs such as Soundset Beach Club, Santino and Speakeasy in Playa Del Carmen.

After having spent a year in Mexico, he decided to return to Marrakech where he founded Elektrokesh and started organising events where he would perform with local as well as international DJ’s such as Dan Andrei, DJ Deep, Jimpster and many others. He has played at many institutions in Morocco such as l’Envers, Lola Sky Lounge and la Pergola where he held weekly residencies and also BCKSTG with a monthly residency. He also has a weekly radio show on Ness Radio called Sunrise with Shems.

✨ Together, they’ll light up the Kabana Rooftop with rhythm, elegance, and vibrant energy — where sound, atmosphere, and connection meet under the Marrakech sky.

Enjoy the sunset, signature cocktails, and the magic of live sound on our open terrace.

Get ready for a night full of rhythm, sunshine & vibrant energy 🔥
