Once upon a time in Hollywood, People Magazine wanted me bare-faced for their Most Beautiful issue. It was an incredible honor and I was absolutely dreading every second of it.Because what nobody knew — not my castmates, not my publicist, not the millions of people about to see my face — was that I have rosacea. And I’ve been quietly, exhaustingly managing it on and off camera for the better part of my life.In this episode I talk about what that’s actually looked like — the touch-ups, the lasers, the thousands of dollars, the countless moments that should have been purely joyful that my skin managed to cloud anyway. In 2009, People Magazine called to tell me they wanted to include me in their Most Beautiful issue. I did a little happy dance. And then they told me what the photoshoot involved...My stomach dropped.In this episode I’m talking about ❤️ what 20+ years of managing rosacea on camera’s actually looked like, and why a condition that isn’t life-threatening can quietly put a tax on some of the most significant moments of your life — a People Magazine shoot, giving birth, jumping in the pool with your kids — without you even realizing how heavy it’s gotten until you look back.This episode isn’t just for the red-faced girlies.
