I absolutely had to stop and take a picture when I saw this cat house on the corner of the street. 😹

It took me a few tries to count all the cats because every time I thought I was done, another one seemed to appear out of nowhere!

I’m still not sure I counted them all. 😂🐈🐈‍⬛

How many cats can you spot?

Florida didn’t give us the best weather this week.

Van and the boys still managed to do a little sailing during the regatta, although one day had to be completely cancelled because of thunderstorms.

But the rain didn’t stop me from looking around and finding inspiration everywhere.

I came across these three colourful new-build homes, which I think may also be multi-unit buildings. I immediately thought, “I want to do something like this!”

We have a future project planned with five buildings on one lot, and I can already picture bringing some of this colour and character into the design.

These cute, colourful houses also made me think of Newfoundland, where Van is from. They have that same fun feeling of colourful homes standing side by side.

Sometimes inspiration for your next project comes from drawings and meetings.

And sometimes it comes while walking around Florida in the rain. ☔️

We’ll see how this little bit of Florida inspiration turns into reality!

Sometimes even the new building can hide a surprise behind the wall.

In this case, we had our water shut off for maintenance in the whole building, and after it was turned back on, the shock wave moved one of the pipes behind the wall and it was damaged by screw from the wall cabinet.
We had to take all the cabinets off the wall and fix the leak. Then we had to fix the drywall and place the cabinets back on, but it was a stressful time when we were trying to locate the leak in the wall.

16 years ago today, we said “Да!” ❤️

That’s “I do” in Russian, because our wedding was in Russia.

Van had an interpreter, a pretty young woman whose job was to explain what was going on and why he was standing in a Russian marriage office, wearing a tuxedo, next to a woman in a wedding dress. 😂

Apparently, she explained it well enough.

Van said “Да” and agreed to this adventure.

And somehow, that adventure has already lasted 16 years.

Four boys, a family business, many projects, plenty of crazy ideas, and a whole life built together later…

I’m still as happy to be beside him as I was on that day 16 years ago. ❤️

Happy anniversary to us! 🥂 by @sheppard_development

Van, Alex, and Steven just won the Lipton Cup Regatta at Noroton Yacht Club!

They raced against 14 other boats, and every other team was from the United States. Our guys, representing Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa, were the only Canadian team. 🇨🇦

And they WON! 🏆⛵

This is the first time in the history of the Lipton Cup Regatta that the Cup has been won by a Canadian boat.

We could not be more proud of our guys.

Congratulations, Van, Alex, and Steven! You brought the Cup home to Canada! 🇨🇦🏆⛵

It was a stormy night and no wind during the day on Sunday.
There was no reason and the boys got to keep the first place without any more competition😁!
