I decided to enter the Jiu jitsu World League competition with only 11 days to physically, mentally, and emotionally prepare for the event. (And make weight)

Some people say you that win or you learn, but I won, learned, and know that I have still so much more to learn.

Thanks to professor @robertotravenbjj and @ladyjitsu at @telaridunwoody for their knowledge, guidance, and belief in me, all my past coaches who helped build my foundation, and @jakethecat17 for his encouragement, support, and coaching.

And of course, thanks to all the ladies of Telari!
😘🫶🏽🙌🏽🔥💃🏻

My opponent was super sweet, and it was difficult to watch the match afterwards, because she was in the most uncomfortable position 😫 The way I would've tapped so fast.✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽

It's been about 3 months, but I still don't have all the words to express this loss or share my memories.
It was too sudden. 13 years taken away without warning, with over a month still left in the school year, and a painfully stressful ending that was not on our own terms.

There was little to no time to wrap up and pack 13 years of our lives (WHILE we still had students in our classrooms !), but we were forced to walk away and not look back.

I try to not think about what I may have forgotten in my room, and it's painful to learn that our 2nd home could potentially be turned into a future parking lot.

However, despite this loss and the way my daughter's world (& ALL the lives of all the students, families, and teachers) changed so drastically in just a few days, I know I still have so much to be grateful for and I have no other choice but to move forward from here.
