Ctrl + Shift + C doesn’t work in real life. I checked. 😩

I used to play The Sims to escape my real life. 🎮

In the game, I could fill every need, turn every plumbob green, go broke & be rich again in less than 60 seconds. In real life? My need bars were empty, & I still showed up & posed for the pictures. ✌🏾

Then I got tired of being tired. I told myself the truth. I kept going through the lonely, quiet season, not knowing the small stuff was counting.

Now my plumbob is green. Not every single day, but more often than not. 💚 Still no cheat code (I wish!). Just grace, obedience & telling myself yes.

I stopped escaping into a life I could control & started building one I don’t want to escape from. Still building, but proud of who I’m becoming.

Before the “the year is almost over” panic tries to creep in, look at all the blanks you’ve already filled in. You made it through nine months. If you’re reading this, that means God was faithful in every single one.

Now look at what’s left. Three months is still enough time!

Remember what you said you would do this year? Some of it you ran with. Some of it you never started. Both are okay.

Give yourself credit for what you did, then start moving toward what you haven’t. God isn’t finished, and neither are you, Builder. 🧱

Here’s what sharing my rebuild story with you all is teaching me in real time:

1) Shame is louder in silence than it is when you say it out loud.

2) “Having it all together,” is not a requirement for helping someone. I thought I had to be finished building before I could be useful. Turns out, I don’t.

3) My testimony isn’t tea, it’s a tool. I wasn’t protecting my peace by hiding it, I was protecting my image. Those aren’t the same thing.

I’m learning to trust God with the parts I wanted to control.

This is the uniform of a Builder (my version): a good handbag, a soft sweatshirt & faith that says “keep showing up,” even when I’m scared.

SHE: Standing. Healing. Elevating.

SHE is clothed with strength & dignity. That’s the whole outfit. No perfect plan, just showing up & stepping into who God has called me to be.
