Another one! This time with @kolaessence85.
.
She is the perfect example of the woman who books me for a lesson and wants an excel spread for her notes. I want makeup to be fun again. Now even though I'm a Scorpio. My Virgo moon and Mars completely understands there has to be an order to things. But not everything! Once the pen and pad went down she was able to play. She came alive and truly walked out loving her look she did herself.
.
She also touched on something major for me. The wholeness of being surrounded by women. Of course there were men in the room. But being around women you feel comfortable with trust and are not comparing yourself to. Takes the edge off. So many times as a MAC girl we'd hear "you're too intimidating" all that black clothes and makeup done can trigger someone. It was always my mission make anyone walking through any door that I've walked through comfortable. I still hold on to that vision today.

And we're back with another testimony from @sweetart_fn from the Inspiration Series Volume 1. Album Covers
.
Now let's talk about it. Are you overwhelmed with the makeup content? Are you overwhelmed when you walk into makeup stores? I know I am! Do you feel like you need every product thrown at you? Do you feel like the salesperson is just selling to you! Is makeup shopping no longer fun?!
.
That was apart of this class and has always been something I made sure to stick to even when I worked in those makeup stores. I never clock anyone's pockets. But I do think "will they be able to recreate this, if they didn't buy the 19 brushes"
.
That's why I also created my business of personal shopping. I come to you. I clean out your tools, your makeup. I show you what to do with what is left. I then make another appointment to personally go shopping with you. We then create a look just for you. I've had women crying throughout the entire process of how spiritual it is for them.
.
Makeup should be fun. Are there some rules and steps. Absolutely. But when I start to see women overwhelmed. It's time to take it back. Blush drama?!? Yall can't be serious.
.
That kit of brushes you got for Christmas one year just collecting dust? Let's open it up and play!
.
That's why I am here.
.

Another testimony from the Inspiration Series Volume 1. Album Covers.
.
I intentionally started with Amerie's All I Have- it's a NYC summer classic album. It's a short album but each song is so well written, produced and engineered. I worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice when they were on 365 Broadway. I got myself a CD player with my first paycheck walked to JR Records and picked up 3 albums that walked with me everywhere. All I Have was one of them.
.
When you think of summer you think of ease. You don't want heavy makeup. But you still want to look like a bronzed goddess. You want glowing clear skin, bronzed skin, little effort without breaking the bank. Now, if you have any scars or blemishes you want to conceal them so you can wear your legs or back out without being self conscious about it.
.
When I would ride the E train from the first to the last stop. I had time. 🤣 lots of it. We would study the linear notes of our cassettes and CDs. Amerie was known for her legs. Flawless.
.
Marrying my 2 loves of makeup and music just seemed like a no brainer.
.
@delainyfana was my beautiful model for the class and like I said I'm never going to duplicate the exact cover. I want women walking away confidently in their skin. Their features. Some of the album covers I will choose may have some wild makeup. So how can I teach you to let loose and make makeup fun again while still being able to rock the look every day? I think I achieved that.
