Excited to highlight one of the voices helping shape the night’s conversation!

Meet our first panelist, Sherika:

Sherika Casseus is an education and community engagement professional dedicated to expanding opportunity through research and student development. As the Literacy Project Manager for the Aicardi Early Steps Program, she leads community partnerships, research, and evidence-based literacy initiatives that empower elementary students to become confident readers and lifelong learners.

She is a woman of faith that loves God and serving the needs of people. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Education and a Master of Education in Higher Education Student Affairs, where her work has focused on student success through community engagement, and supporting equity-based research.

Sherika believes success today means progressing from your past self. Her philosophy is everyone is in their own lane and the only person we can compare ourselves to is the person in the mirror. Success also means positive impact. Success looks like leaving someone better than you met them.

Sherika learned that success is not about how much money you can take from “customers” for personal gain, but about serving souls and making a meaningful impact on people’s lives. While many people measure success by money and numbers, true success is measured by the lives you touch and the positive difference you make in the lives of others.

Please no stress for Sherika and yet, Steph here we are.

It’s been a little over two weeks since Steph went to glory. I wish I could say I’m
shocked but we are Gods children, He is the one that has the final say, you belong to Him.

What I can say is that I am so glad God brought the Jean Baptiste and Casseus family together, blood couldn’t make us closer and I will forever be grateful for all the moments we’ve had with Steph and the more memories we will have together in honor of Steph! I’ve always been Cathy’s little sister but now I know my rank has elevated 🤭

I will miss being on praise team with you, my job was to make sure you knew what was going

Funny conversations where you would say what everyone was thinking

You were a real one, the coolest and chillest

Being on your team meant we were always winning

Now that you’re gone I guess I can take YOUR SPOT in Core Siblings of being the meanest and youngest 😂

Oh and you know how your sister gets so I’ll also be here to keep it T 😆

Steph, Congratulations on meeting your purpose here on earth ! Unfortunately your death has now made me act of my character and think about you (a man) every day, pretty cruel and twisted but I’ll make this one exception due to the circumstance.

As I continue to walk the walk of life, the lessons your life taught me will always be in my heart.
