Panelist Spotlight ✨

Excited to highlight one of the voices helping shape the night’s conversation!

Meet our first panelist, Sherika:

Sherika Casseus is an education and community engagement professional dedicated to expanding opportunity through research and student development. As the Literacy Project Manager for the Aicardi Early Steps Program, she leads community partnerships, research, and evidence-based literacy initiatives that empower elementary students to become confident readers and lifelong learners.

She is a woman of faith that loves God and serving the needs of people. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Education and a Master of Education in Higher Education Student Affairs, where her work has focused on student success through community engagement, and supporting equity-based research.

Sherika believes success today means progressing from your past self. Her philosophy is everyone is in their own lane and the only person we can compare ourselves to is the person in the mirror. Success also means positive impact. Success looks like leaving someone better than you met them.

Sherika learned that success is not about how much money you can take from “customers” for personal gain, but about serving souls and making a meaningful impact on people’s lives. While many people measure success by money and numbers, true success is measured by the lives you touch and the positive difference you make in the lives of others.

Almost two weeks later and I’m still processing Réspire: Breathe Again.

From the PJs and laughter to watching women pray, release, and BREATHE again—it was beautiful. Having my besties ( Joelle & Sophie ) there watching my firstborn @jjmlouis2 share the vision behind his business, hearing my husband speak life over me, and that Community Panel?! @iamjoellemeristal @sophieclairegibson @defharry @jjmlouis Tears, laughter, money on the floor…YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE! 😂🙌🏽

Women flew in and drove from near and far to be with us, and I’ll never take that for granted. Thank you. And @callmehostshay @lepetitgateaubar thank you for helping bring it all together!

I went into this weekend wanting women to experience healing, but somewhere along the way, this retreat healed a part of me too. Thank you to the Réspire team @laitzaa @tinyt19 @therealnathanbourjolly @sherika_c who made sure everything flows correctly throughout the weekend.

For now, I’m going to steep in what the Lord has done.

But trust me…Réspire has more lined up for THIS YEAR, and you don’t want to miss what’s coming next! 👀

Almost 2 weeks later, the testimonies are still coming in. Thank you @pierrelene for capturing this moment for us.

Réspire Breathe Again was more than a beautiful weekend. It was a reminder of what can happen when we give ourselves permission to pause, receive and release.

Hear from some of the women who experienced it.

Their words. Their experience. Their Réspire.

RÉSPIRE RECAP: PART TWO :
THIS IS WHAT FREEDOM LOOKS LIKE!

Running through the grass.
Laughing until our cheeks hurt.
Standing by the water.
Moving our bodies.
Holding hands.
Being silly.
Being present.
Being FREE.

Sometimes wellness looks like a quiet moment by the lake…and sometimes it looks like grown women running through the grass without a care in the world! 😂💕

For a moment, we weren’t thinking about the titles we carry, the people who need us, the emails waiting, or the next thing on the calendar.

We were simply THERE.

Present.
Joyful.
Together.

And maybe that’s part of what it means to breathe again, giving yourself permission to enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build.

More joy. More presence. More moments like THIS.

Thank you to @sherika_c & @laitzaa for making this happened with some of the ladies !

RÉSPIRE RECAP: PART ONE

Okayyyy… can we go back already?! 🥹💕

The Réspire: Breathe Again Experience was everything we prayed for and MORE!

We laughed. We moved. We learned. We ate GOOD. We connected. We took care of ourselves. And most importantly… we gave ourselves permission to slow down and BREATHE.

From the little details to the beautiful people who filled the room, this weekend was truly special.

And this is only Part One… because one recap simply wasn’t enough!

Part Two is coming!

Don’t just breathe… RÉSPIRE.

Still taking it all in…

This photo may not include every beautiful person who joined us for the Réspire: Breathe Again Experience, but please know that every single one of you was an important part of this weekend.

From our overnight guests and day-pass attendees to our speakers, panelists, vendors, sponsors, partners, and incredible team..THANK YOU!

My team and I are so grateful for every person who showed up, poured in, participated, served, laughed, worshipped, connected, and simply allowed themselves to breathe again.

There is SO much more to share (because whew… what a weekend! 🥹💕), and the official recap is coming soon.

But for now, we just want to say…

Thank you for trusting the vision. Thank you for being part of Réspire.

Thank you to @1twentyonephotography for capturing this moment.

Why I created the Rèspire : Breathe Again Retreat

A simple answer is God told me so !

I’m a wife . A mother. A cancer survivor.

A few years ago, I found myself carrying more weight than just what the scale showed. At my highest, I weighed 219 pounds. I was taking blood pressure medication, diabetic medication and trying to navigate life after cancer.

When I was declared cancer-free, I realized something : I couldn’t simply pray for change. I had to participate in it.

With the support of my village , my family and my fitness trainer @naldinerenee @forgeperformance.llc , I made a decision to take my life back.
One walk.
One workout.
One meal.
One boundary.
One act of rest at a time.
Training myself to be present and enjoy life.

Today, I’m down nearly 40 pounds and still going. I’m off my blood pressure and diabetic medication. I’ve learned how to move my body , fuel it well , advocate for my health and most importantly, honor it with rest.

My healing didn’t stop with me.

As I learned to prioritize my health, rest and wellbeing. I began creating the very resources I wished I had during my journey. The Réspire Coloring Journal Book, Réspire Rest Planner and 12 week Soul and Self-Care Journey were all born from a simple belief: people deserve tools that help them slow down, reconnect with themselves and make wellness a lifestyle.

Now, Réspire Breathe Again Retreat is the next chapter of that vision.

That’s why Réspire exists.

Not because I have it all figured out. But because I know what it’s like to need a second chance at your health , your peace and your life.

On Aug 7th-9th I’ll be hosting the first ever Réspire Breathe Again Retreat alongside an incredible community of wellness professionals . From Doctor, Nurse practitioners, therapist, fitness trainers and other experts who believe that faith and wellness belong together.

This retreat is for the woman who is ready to pour into herself.

The woman who has spent years caring for everyone else.

The woman who knows she needs more than another inspirational quote, she neeeds a plan, a pause and a community.

We’ve been praying .. Can you answer the call to be the change ?
