Meet @wobble.studio

Chelsea of Wobble Studio is an artist working in oil pastel on fabric. For Windows into the Unseen, she explores body image and autonomy in I Hold My Folds, a triptych in which she holds her own skin tenderly, capturing every ripple, stretch mark and scar.

Windows into the Unseen is a month-long exhibition where 16 women activist artists transform @deptfordlounge windows into sites of visibility, reflection and dialogue. It brings hidden and normalised forms of violence against women and girls into public view, while amplifying stories of resilience, survival and empowerment through collective care and action. Join us at Deptford Lounge from 16 November to 12 December.

Help make it happen 💛 We are bringing this project to life with your support as we did not receive public funding. The Sheroes team and every artist in the show are dedicated to making this project happen, and your donations will help this and future exhibitions. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Join the fight and be part of our mission to end violence against women and girls. Follow the link in our bio!

Meet @silja.manninen and @riittahakkarainen

Silja Manninen and Riitta Hakkarainen will be part of the Windows into the Unseen exhibition, they explore the „reference man“, the male body used as the default in design and safety testing, with The Reference Woman: a dress carrying a safety harness built around the female body, asking what happens when the body design is meant to protect is not the body it was imagined for.

Meet @spiceupyourline

We introduce you to our first artist for our upcoming exhibition Windows into the Unseen. Spice Up Your Line explores women’s self-acceptance in You Were Born to Stand Out, a window painted on both sides: confident, individual women face the street, while the words thrown at them, “too old”, “too loud”, “too quiet”, face inward.

Bex, known online as Spice Up Your Line (@spiceupyourline) has built a distinctive practice around bold, abstract line work and playful, colourful pattern design 🌀

Starting out as a lockdown project after graduating with a Music degree, her work has since grown into murals, window art, and gallery installations - including a piece at Birmingham Design Festival.

In this interview, Bex shares the surprisingly unserious origin story behind her name, why she trusts instinct over planning when tackling large-scale walls and windows, and how Birmingham’s underrated, close-knit creative scene has shaped her approach.

Open Call for women activist artists, including trans women and non-binary fellows, to submit their work for our upcoming exhibition ‘Windows into the Unseen’ in partnership with @sheroes_collective.

‘Windows into the Unseen’ marks the 25th November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

It explores the many forms of violence against women and girls that remain invisible, normalised, and often overlooked. These everyday and systemic violence’s create the conditions that enable more visible forms such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, and physical harm.

By bringing these experiences into the public eye—through the library’s windows—the exhibition invites bold, honest, and collective conversations.

Applications close 15 August 2026

Anne Plaisance (@anneplaisance) uses painting, photography, installation, and immersive environments to explore the hidden realities of violence against women, and the long road toward healing and reclaiming your voice 🗣️

Her latest project, Wonder Women Now, is an international art and social impact platform combining exhibitions, public dialogue, healing-centred experiences, and podcast storytelling. It’s currently touring to Warsaw this summer, with London to follow in November.

A touching moment from our interview with Anne: her approach to choosing collaboration over competition, believing that support can take many forms, and championing a diversity of perspectives.

We're excited to be running an exhibition again this Autumn at @deptfordlounge, in partnership with Lewisham Council, to mark the 25th of November and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The exhibition will run from the 16th of November to the 12th of December.

Windows into the Unseen will explore the many forms of violence against women and girls that remain invisible, normalised, and often overlooked. These everyday and systemic violences create the conditions that enable more visible forms such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, and physical harm.

We're now inviting women artists, including trans women and non-binary fellows, to submit their work and written proposals for the exhibition.

All information about the project and the submission process is available through the link in our bio.

London is home to around 300,000 Spanish speakers, and I am one of them. That’s why I’ve decided to run this tour in my mother tongue: to make art and culture more accessible to such a large and vibrant community.
With this tour, I want to create a cultural experience that feels welcoming, engaging, and inclusive for Spanish speakers. It’s a chance to enjoy the National Gallery’s masterpieces without language barriers, and to connect more deeply with the stories behind the art.
