We’re continuing our reflections on the 2026 Bethune Leadership Fellowship with a look back at Session Two! 🧡

Our Fellows took a deep dive into the tools that can make all the difference when pursuing opportunities in public service: resumes, cover letters, and interviews.

Joined by Pa’Trina Lingard, a digital coach supporting youth programs at the Obama Foundation and the U.S. Department of State, Fellows explored the dos and don’ts of career materials, learned how to tailor their applications for impact-oriented careers, and gained strategies for making a lasting impression in an interview.

From telling your story to communicating your strengths, this session equipped our Fellows with practical tools to confidently pursue their next opportunity. ✨

We’re proud to reflect on the growth that took place throughout the Fellowship—and this was only the beginning!

We’re reflecting on where it all began. 🧡

The Bethune Leadership Fellowship opened with a powerful conversation about the stories, values, and experiences that shape our paths in public service.

During our first session, Carlisha Williams Bradley joined our Fellows for a thoughtful discussion on identifying their mission, vision, and purpose—and, most importantly, understanding the “why” behind the work they hope to do.

By naming their stories, identifying their focus, and beginning to define their unique “niche,” our Fellows laid the foundation for a summer of intentional growth, connection, and leadership.

As we look back on the 2026 Bethune Leadership Fellowship, we’re reminded that every public service journey starts with a story. ✨
