it is very fun playing around with colours and tone curves.. i highly recommend it~ ♡

also i'm back in the building... isn't it crazy how agatha and rio have one of the greatest love stories of all time... like what if you were condemned by everyone, even by your own mother, for 'bringing death' wherever you went? but what the world saw as your greatest curse became the very thing that made THE personification of Death herself fall so hopelessly in love with you?

what if your love for each other was so strong that it was capable of creating life from scratch and transcending the scarlet witch's hex, the most powerful hex known to man?

on top of that, what if you were the one thing that scarred and haunted Death herself, someone who has been here since the beginning of time, has seen civilisations rise and fall, and has encountered incomprehensible bloodshed?

...

ㄴ also recorded a speedpaint and you know what maybe i should start recording more timelapses for my art 🙈

ㄴ art prints of this piece have just been made available in my inprnt shop as well! 💌

This was the first scene that I dreamt of. My inspiration comes to me in my dreams, at least the majority of the time. And I dreamt of this over and over again until I had to sit down and write the scene. At that point, I already knew the names of the main characters, Aaron & Maya.

For the one-year anniversary (ONLY THREE DAYS!!), I knew that I wanted this highly emotional scene and that I wanted the super talented @shinkomiii to illustrate this scene in comic style. I had the loveliest time working together. The talent is clearly impressive and the character’s emotions break through the screen

🌿 BENT RIGHT TO YOUR WIND 🌿

AARON:
🫀 Second Oldest In The Willow Clan
🫦 Has Been Pinning For Years
🤵 Is Married To His Academic Nemesis
🐕 Golden Retriever
💍 His Achilles Heel Is His Academic Rival / Now Wife

MAYA:
🌹 Only Child Of The Avery’s
♥️ Famous Lawyer
👰‍♀️ Acts Like She Hates Everyone But Has The Softest Spot For Aaron
🐈‍⬛ Black Cat
🏆 Black Sheep Of Her Hometown Turn Into Prodigal Daughter

Aaron Willow and Maya Amery’s story began with a book in a park, a budding friendship between a golden-hearted boy and a jaded, independent girl. But what started as an innocent connection soon turned into something deeper—and more complicated—when a betrayal disrupted their lives. Setting them on a path of academic competition, with each pushing the other to their limits while keeping buried feelings at bay.

Years later, Aaron and Maya are married, but the love that once bound them is now strained under the weight of the past. Nearly a decade into marriage, they’re confronted by a painful reminder of that old betrayal—a wound neither of them caused, yet one that reshaped their lives and relationship forever.

As the story unfolds through dual timelines, we see Aaron and Maya’s journey from friends to rivals to lovers, and finally, to a couple fighting for their love against the scars of the past.

Can they rediscover the magic they once shared, or will the shadows of yesterday prove too strong to overcome?

A tale of love, rivalry, and resilience, where each chapter alternates between the innocence of youth and the trials of a marriage in peril. by @shinkomiii
