Special delivery for my dear friend Janice! She came up to New York from DC for her birthday portrait session and we had so much fun creating all the looks ranging from professional to casual, and everything in between!

There is something magical about holding a photograph in your hands instead of viewing it on a screen. I don’t make up the rules. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m a firm believer that a beautiful portrait shouldn’t disappear into your camera roll. It should become something you live with. Something that reminds you of who you are, how far you’ve come, and the woman you’re becoming.

As summer winds down, here’s a glimpse of how I’ve been celebrating my birthday month so far as a September virgo turning 45.

Spoiler: Beach, seafood, pups, ice cream, rinse and repeat. 🦞

This year, I got lucky as my birthday falls on Labor Day and somehow, the universe knew exactly what to do to make the day extra special by putting on fireworks at the beach.

As I step into a new year, I’m feeling fabulous and have been quietly working on a few exciting projects at the studio. 📸

My word for 2026 is ‘Abundance’ and I’ve certainly seen that come through - in knowledge, ideas, relationships, and beyond. It’s all ramping up as the year progresses and I’m figuring out how to piece them together and make it my own!

Not to be dramatic but photographing portraits that are not my usual look is the best reset button for my Virgo type A brain.

Thousand thanks to Femme Foto for hosting an incredible Studio Social session and the wonderful Allison for being my muse. I loved being in community with so many other fellow women photographers who are also the best humans ever.

Special shout out to Fujifilm for generously providing a camera bar where I got to try out the GFX100 II and accompanying lenses. This was my first time using Fujifilm and I might be in love 📸

Celebrating big time after finding out that my client Willing received not one, but two awards from City&State for “The 2026 50 over 50” and “The 2026 Asian Trailblazers” awards!

Willing is the Chief Operating Officer at Grand St. Settlement, advocating tirelessly for low-income immigrant families across the city. As an immigrant myself, I know how challenging it is figuring out life in a culture that’s very different from where I’m from, so having the opportunity to photograph Willing in a way that honors her presence, energy, and passion was both inspiring and nourishing.
