It’s official guys!!

I’m sure you’ve heard all the buzz!!

I have the honor and privilege to participate in a TEDx event!! At my Alma Mata!! We are the second HBCU to become Licensed to host a TEDx event. @tedxbowiestateuniversity So monumental and you know this is going to be amazing.

My talk is titled “From ‘Human Display’ to Torchbearer: Building a Legacy on My Dash.” (See synopsis in images)

Happiness is Homemade!! Dream BIG!

Two hearts gone in such a short time.💔

Just when I was trying to find my footing after losing my mom, I now have to say goodbye to my grandma, my little woman , my elegant queen,my quiet strength.

In a matter of weeks, I’ve lost the two women who poured the most love into me. The pain feels unbearable some days, but I’m choosing to hold onto the beautiful memories we made. The laughter in the nail shop, her sharp comebacks, her warm hugs, and the way she loved without words.

Grandma, thank you for loving me so completely. You and Mom are together now, probably already gossiping over something and smiling down on me.

Please keep watching over me. I’m going to need both of you.

Rest in perfect peace, my angels. I’ll carry your love with me always.

Today officially marks 20 years since Scoop and I been Married!!!

It’s been one week since I found out my mom died, and the ache is still so real, but I’m finding my way through it.

She was the brightest light in any room, an extrovert who knew everybody, always kind, always giving, with the goofiest sense of humor. She was incredibly intelligent, the ultimate realist (she kept it 100, even when it was tough to hear), and she had her flaws like we all do… but her heart was huge.

She called me her pumpkin, and every time she said it, I felt so loved and seen.

I miss her every single day the calls, the laughs, the way she made the world feel warmer just by being in it. But I also know she’s at peace now, free from pain, and that brings me some comfort.

I’m healing in a healthy way, leaning on the people who care, taking it one breath at a time, and I’m truly okay right now. Your love, messages, calls, and support have meant everything,thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’ll share more details about her memorial soon.

Until then, light a candle, think of someone who lit up your life, and hold them a little closer if you can.

Despite her medical expertise, Shonte (@shonte19) encountered repeated barriers to proper breast cancer care—leading to an eventual metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. But thanks to advancements in research, her first line of treatment has been successful. Now, she’s using her voice to advocate for change and help improve outcomes for others.
