December 3rd marks the International Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners.

According to KARAPATAN, there are currently 696 political prisoners in various places of detention in the Philippines as of November 2025. Most are peasant and labor organizers, human rights defenders, development workers, and even ordinary citizens slapped with trumped-up criminal charges on mere suspicion of supporting the revolutionary movement.

As a Filipino beader who borrows her craft from the women freedom fighters languishing in incarceration, it is important to continue highlighting their ongoing struggle to abolish corruption in the Philippines.

I am still available for crochet commissions! This FAQ is the same as the last one with more recent projects I completed in 2025. If you own one of these hats, thank you for supporting my art 🙏🏽

And although I am mainly emphasizing headwear, I may be open to other small projects, such as bags, scarves, coasters, and plushies!

thank you dad for these past couple of years. we weren’t always on the best terms, but you turned over a new leaf when you finally embraced sobriety.

i will always remember jumping on you as a kid every night you came home from a 16-hour shift. i’ll remember the late drive-through adventures, perusing blockbuster for the newest horror movies, and eating hotdogs with you after school. i’ll keep the birthday voicemails and apology videos to remind myself of the good life you’d want me to continue living.

MARAMING SALAMAT! 🇵🇭🇵🇸

Since December 1st, $500 has been raised to support Voices & Verses (@voices.verses), and an additional $85 made from yesterday’s Thrift4Gaza’s Market (@thriftforgaza) went towards Salam Charity (@salamcharityusa).

Thank you to everyone who supported my crochet and beadwork over the years. From Filipino political prisoners to Palestinian families, it is very heartening to continue harnessing my art to raise political awareness and material support. Encouraging all artists, big and small, to do the same!

Quick little budget hacks for displaying your wares at craft fairs and artist alleys!

If you’re like me, an artist with limited resources, it can be easy to second guess why people may not patronize your table.

I used to lay everything flat with barely any room to spare, and realized I needed to build up ⬆️

So, I bought the majority of my display, storage, and tools from marketplace, the dollar store, or simply DIY’d them myself!

Albeit simple, an elaborate set-up isn’t always necessary to have a successful market day. As long as people are able to see, feel, and try on things, any excess of that is really optional. Accessibility is everything!

So yeah, I will always opt for simplicity, budget friendliness, and accessibility over vanity and extravagance :)

Small yarn haul from Gantsilyo Guru (@yarnsph)!

Had an awesome friend returning from the Philippines carry this package all the way from Manila for me 🥹

I have been a big time fan of Dapper Dreamers Combed Cotton yarn, which I have used for the majority of my crochet hats and coasters! So it was nice to be able to try something else by them despite not having gone home in a while (hopefully 2026 maybe? 👀)

Super excited to use their DK Weight Rainbow Pallet for summer garments and Galaxy Themed Tees yarn for bags and wallets hehe!

This weekend, join me with @artistsformutualaidnyc and @earth.convergence to foster strong and healthy communities on April 18th & 19th 🌏

We will be gathering for workshops, community teach-ins, and shared meals to better arm ourselves towards fighting for a just and greener world!

Happy 4th birthday to Aries, my fiery first born!

He’s always been curious about my craftwork, from catching the yarn I crochet with to staring intently at my whirring sewing machine. He LOVES watching my printer spit out paper and dipping his paws in my bowl of beads.

He always sits next to me whenever I watch true crime too lol

I feel so grateful to be gifted the responsibility to care for him (even if it hurts my wallet at times HAHA). My mental health truly improved once he came into my life and I couldn’t be more appreciative.

Whenever I felt so close to losing the battle against my mental health, I turned to crafts to reinvigorate my love for creating.

Despite all the experiences in my life that angered or saddened me, it was like I could expel them through beading and crochet.

It may not change the past, but it helps to transform my attitude about it.
