‘Notes on Light’ - My new creative journal newsletter ✨

Photography is a love affair with life. And I’m living it.

Some might say I’m obsessed, but deep down I’ve always known photography was the one for me. It feels like an extension of my arm. It gives me confidence. It helps me connect. It helps me understand the world.

I wish I had photos from the very beginning, but my love affair started when I was 16. Here’s a bit of the journey:

2012
 I started university studying Photography and Film @universityofleeds with absolutely no idea what I was doing. But I had a growing collection of vintage film cameras and spent countless hours in the college darkroom, completely hooked.

2013 to 2015
 I found my way onto as many film sets as I could during my studies. I took every opportunity I could find - from runner jobs to camera assistant gigs. I also worked for the student newspaper.

2016
 Moved to London to join a YouTube channel with a fun mix of commercial clients. It was fast-paced, full of energy, and pushed me creatively in every direction. Met @videobyvictoria 🙏🏼😭

2017
 Work kept me busy, but I started travelling during my holidays, capturing everything along the way. I was vlogging too, though I never shared any of it. Photography had quietly become my way of seeing and processing the world.

2018
 At the end of the year I left my London job to take a slightly delayed gap year. My camera came with me of course. I gave myself the space to reset and figure out what I really wanted.

2019
 Came back inspired and ready to give freelance life a real shot. I took any paid or unpaid jobs at this point, weddings, events, you name it!

2020
 Started my own business with @sammorris3 just as the world was closing down. I bought my first underwater housing, and @adriftvisuals was born. So much growth and curiosity during this year.

2021 to 2024
 To be honest, it’s all a complete blur in the best way! Growing a business, travelling the world for commercial projects, and becoming a Sony Ambassador. Still feels surreal. More stories on this one day…

2025
 And here we are. Still obsessed. Still building a beautiful life and career through this passion of mine. To be continued!

• My camera bag in 2026 • 📸

I picked up a new bag for everyday adventures and smaller travel jobs recently, and after putting it through its paces over the summer around the island, it’s quickly become my go-to.

The @pgytech.gb OnePro Ultralight Backpack is the perfect size for the way I like to work. I can fit my Sony body, a selection of my favourite lenses, batteries, filters and all the little essentials, and I can even squeeze my Super 8 camera in too. Having everything I need in one bag without it feeling bulky has been a game changer.

I took it out for a sunset wander around Newtown Creek, a beautiful National Nature Reserve just 10 minutes from my house, to capture these moments. We were treated to the most incredible colours at dusk on one of the stillest evenings I can remember. I never take for granted how lucky I am to have such a beautiful variety of nature right on my doorstep.

Most of my ideas start the same way… in a notebook.

For years, they’ve mostly stayed there too.

I’ve always wanted to organise a community beach clean on the Isle of Wight, so I thought it was finally time to make it happen. 🌊

I’ve recently been using Adobe Firefly Boards to take the ideas from my journal and turn them into a real action plan. From mood boards and posters to organising the whole event, I’ve now got it seamlessly in one place.

Another trip around the sun 🌞 32 today, and I’m feeling more alive than ever.

Feeling incredibly grateful for this life and for all the wonderful people who are part of it. 🧡

Lately I’ve been soaking up slow island days at home, along with a beautiful trip to Totnes with some of my closest friends. It’s reminded me that life isn’t just about the big adventures. Sometimes the little moments become the ones you treasure most, so here are a few of mine 📸

Six months with my new camera. 🥹

It somehow feels like I’ve had it for years. It hasn’t left my side. And although it might seem like I have loads of cameras (most of them are old!), this is always the one I reach for.

I’m still not over New Zealand earlier this year. Those landscapes felt like a complete dream and the Sony Alpha 7 V somehow kept up with every adventure I threw at it.

Anyone else have the same body as me?

From our time at @fzeen_kefalonia 🇬🇷

It doesn’t get much more relaxing than this. Tucked away along the idyllic shores of this special island, it’s a place of beautiful views, swim spots, and incredible local food.
