Still smiling about this one!

I took part in the #PromptedByCanon challenge for World Photography Day, with the prompt to capture something ordinary that often gets overlooked but is actually extraordinary.

Thrilled to be chosen as the winner!

Thank you @canonindia_official for the lovely challenge. A reminder to always look a little closer at the everyday.

Life Along the Waterline
📍Venice, Italy

A city shaped by water, where centuries-old architecture meets the constant movement of everyday life. Gondolas pass beneath the fading light, boats carry people across familiar routes and reflections shift with the changing sky.
Here, water is more than a backdrop. It is a part of daily life. And somewhere between the stillness of the buildings and the movement of the canals, the city reveals itself as it truly is: not just a place to admire, but a place that continues to live and breathe amidst the waters.

Postcards from between the banks

📍Burano, Italy

The colourful houses and canals are beautiful, but what I enjoyed most was watching everyday life unfold around them. People going about their day, boats parked outside homes and locals sharing the same streets with curious visitors like me.
It’s easy to get caught up in seeing a place as a tourist and forget that for someone else, it’s just home. Travel gives us a small glimpse into lives so different from our own, even if it’s only for a day.

The World in Its Afterglow
Perhaps that’s the beauty of a sunset. No matter where we are, for a moment, we’re all looking at the same ending.

When Geometry Lets Go
Designed by Frank Gehry, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opened in 1997 as part of an ambitious effort to transform Bilbao’s former industrial waterfront into a cultural destination.

Built with titanium, glass and limestone, its unconventional forms challenged the idea of what a museum could look like.
Nearly 33,000 thin titanium panels wrap around its curved surfaces, catching the light and reflecting the changing skies above the city.

Perhaps that is what makes great architecture so compelling It changes how we see it.

A Mosaic of Singapore.
On the streets of Singapore, these stories take shape in colour, character and art. Each mural offers a glimpse into a different world, yet together they form a portrait of a city shaped by many.
Different pieces. Different histories. One city

A shared pause.
Different people, different stories, all taking a moment to sit by the sea, watch the boats go by and let the day move a little slower.

The colours of Havana are impossible to separate from its spirit. The classic cars, still cruising the streets after decades, glow like jewels against a backdrop of grand old buildings whose faded paint tells stories of time, weather and resilience. Blues that echo the sea, reds that catch the afternoon light and greens that seem borrowed from the palms make the entire city feel magical.

Havana is beautiful because every colour carries history, and every street feels wonderfully, unmistakably alive.
