POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One of the biggest changes we made to Project Tutored this year was also one of the most challenging.
Last year, the programme was designed for young people between the ages of 13–18. This year, we decided to take a chance and open it up to children as young as 8 years old, while keeping the upper age limit at 18.

We knew going in that teaching an 8-year-old and teaching an 18-year-old are two very different experiences. The pace, attention spans, communication and learning needs are different, and honestly, there were moments that tested us.
But there was something incredibly special about having the younger ones in the room.

They came with so much energy, curiosity and excitement. They asked questions without hesitation, celebrated the smallest wins, encouraged one another and brought a kind of joy that changed the atmosphere of the entire programme.
It also reminded us why we started Project Tutored in the first place, to give young people access to practical skills, exposure and experiences that can shape how they see themselves and what they believe is possible for them.

Four weeks. 153 students. 10 skills. And countless memories.

Last year, Project Tutored Bayelsa started with 55 students. This year, we welcomed 153 kids ages 8-18.
For four weeks, our students stepped away from the usual classroom experience and into a space where they could learn, create, experiment and discover new possibilities.

Across the programme, they were introduced to 10 practical and creative skills, each designed to give them something they could carry beyond these four weeks.
But Project Tutored has never been just about learning skills.
It is about humanity, love, exposure, confidence, creativity and opportunity.
It is about allowing a child to discover, perhaps for the first time, “I can actually do this.”
And this year, we watched that happen over and over again.
We watched students arrive as strangers and leave with friendships. We watched ideas turn into things they could touch and be proud of. We watched confidence grow with every new skill, every question asked and every challenge attempted.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to @evergreenngo and @shebuildslives , a partnership without which Project Tutored simply would not exist.
Thank you for believing in this vision, investing in our children and helping us create a space where young people could learn, grow and see beyond their immediate circumstances.
There would be no Project Tutored without you. Your support has made this possible, and we are deeply grateful.

To our incredible facilitators, volunteers, parents, supporters and, most importantly, our 153 students thank you for making these four weeks what they were.

Last year, 55.
This year, 153.
Next year, we dream even bigger.

Goodbye really is the saddest word.

I don’t think I was prepared for how hard this part would be. Four weeks ago, I started Project Tutored with 55 students. Four weeks later, I’m standing here trying to say goodbye to 153 children who have become such a huge part of my everyday life.
These children stretched me in the best possible way. They tested my patience, made me laugh when I didn’t feel like laughing, challenged me to be better, and reminded me to slow down and enjoy the little things. Somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling like just their coordinator. I became their older sister. And that is what makes leaving so hard.

I have gotten used to their voices, their random questions, their hugs, their excitement, their little arguments, and the way they would come looking for me even when they didn’t really need anything. I have watched them learn new things, discover what they’re capable of, and become more confident in themselves. And somehow, while I thought I was here to teach them, they taught me so much too.
Parting ways after four weeks has genuinely been one of the hardest things I’ve had to do this year. You don’t realise how attached you’ve become until it’s time to say goodbye.
Project Tutored has given me memories I know I will carry for a very long time. But more than anything, it has given me 153 little people who have left an imprint on my heart.

The love is unmatched. Truly.
So, to my babies, thank you for allowing me to be your coordinator, your teacher, your big sister and sometimes the person you came to just because you wanted to see me.
I’m going to miss you more than you know.

After 8 months of building, we finally get to share this with the world. So much work has gone into bringing this to life, and seeing it all come together is such a beautiful feeling.

It’s been one month since we officially wrapped up Project Tutored Bayelsa 2026, and honestly, it still feels so fresh.
Beyond the numbers and the activities, what has stayed with us the most are the people. The children who showed up excited to learn, the volunteers who gave their time, and the parents and well-wishers who constantly encouraged us and reminded us why programmes like this matter. So, one month later, we’re taking a moment to reminisce through some of the things parents and well-wishers had to say about their experience with Project Tutored.

Listening their words again has made us even more grateful for the opportunity to serve and for everyone who contributed to making this edition possible.
And yes, we miss our kids dearly. Their energy, questions, laughter and personalities became such a big part of our everyday lives during those four weeks.

Project Tutored Bayelsa 2026 may be over, but the memories, lessons and impact continue.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of it. 🤍

Stop paying someone else’s mortgage.

If you’ve been paying rent for years, you’ve probably wondered at some point, “When will I finally own my own home?”
The truth is, homeownership might be more achievable than you think. It starts with understanding what you can afford, knowing your options, and having the right people guide you through the process.

Buying property can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know where to start. That’s why having a trusted team to help you navigate the process, from finding the right property to handling the legal and documentation side, is so important.

Penuel Prime @penuel_properties is the firm I trust to help make that journey clearer and easier.
Your journey to owning your own home could start sooner than you think.

There’s something deeply meaningful about being trusted with the lives of children. To teach them, guide them, encourage them, and remind them that they are capable of so much more than they can imagine. I truly believe that when we pour into children, we’re not just impacting their present, we’re shaping the future.

I’m grateful to be serving as a Project Tutored ’26 Bayelsa State Coordinator, and I don’t take this opportunity lightly. It’s a privilege to be part of something that is intentionally changing lives, one child and one community at a time.

The best part? We’re back for the second edition of Project Tutored, and we’re coming back with even more purpose, more passion, and a bigger vision. The first edition laid such a beautiful foundation, and I can’t wait to see the lives we’ll reach this time around. The work is important, the children are worth it & I’m so honored to be part of it. taken in Bayelsa by @shotsswitem
