A filmmaker from Edmonton, AB - Watch our newest feature documentary coming this fall! @losriosfilm

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We are pleased to announce that Los ríos will be having its WORLD PREMIERE at the Canadian Film Festival in Toronto on March 29th at 5pm!!

“A determined Honduran mother and her three daughters are swept into the currents of the contentious migrant caravan as it pushes relentlessly toward safety, opportunity, and the United States.”

Gosh it has taken a lot to get here, and I am truly honoured and proud to have my first film festival screening. This wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful help from Josh Huculiak @gardenfilmstudio and Mauro Mueller @fidelio.films and can’t be more proud of Will Quiring @willquiring and his incredible soundtrack that he has provided for this film.

Mass migration has been seen around the world for decades and unfortunately is an issue that is not going anywhere anytime soon. We were lucky enough to follow a family, much like yours, as they endure a difficult journey like so many before them and so many will again as they seek safety and security. Unfortunately this documentary is more timely than ever, in the world, the United States and even here in Alberta as we see increased harmful messaging towards new immigrants. I hope this film can shed some light on what someone goes through as they try to make it towards safety in the global North.

There are so many people that have helped get this passion project to where it is now and Ryan and I cannot be more grateful.

Thank you CFF @canfilmfest for having us, I cannot wait to see this on the big screen later this month! See you soon Toronto!

Last year I made over 50 music videos!
...and I finally updated my website!

Not sure how important a website is but after doing my taxes this year I realized I had the busiest year of my life and probably owed it to myself to consolidate some of my work here.
I am truly honoured to have been trusted by so many of my favourite bands to make visuals for their precious works of art. From the bands that gave me carte blanche to just do whatever I was thinking, and to the ones who directed me through their own personal vision. I love it all; every song, and every person I got to collaborate with and share goofy, fun, creative days.
A special thanks to Major Love, Scenic Route and Billie Zizi for having me create nearly the entirety of the visuals for their recent masterpieces! @majorlovemajorlove @billiezizi @scenicroutetoalaska

I think I reached burn out last year at the end of it all, as I just can’t say no to a fun opportunity. So far this summer l have been walking my dog and playing the piano and it has been real nice, although I look forward to whatever the next project might be.

Life is wild, thanks so much everyone for all the good hangs.

One premiere down and three more to go! (For now). Thank you so much for coming out and supporting Ryan’s and my film and supporting this family and many more like them! We had an awesome audience and got so many great questions. You rule Edmonton and @themetrocinema !
A guy had the best birthday he could ask for; thanks for all the kind words.

If you enjoyed the film and want others to see it, please tell your friends in Calgary, Saskatoon and Vancouver about the screening dates in the other images on this carousel!
Tickets can be bought at www.losriosfilm.com or clicking the link in the bio. We don’t have the same pull in these other cities so we would be incredibly appreciative of any and all recommendations!
Thanks again Edmonton.

Loved these guys mocking all the news cameras! There were lots of eyes on them from all around the world, which actually led to their safety from gangs and from Mexican federal police, so cameras were generally very welcomed by the migrants. Hard not to make fun of us though! @losriosfilm by @shouldadanished

While I was riding on the back of Ryan’s motorbike I would have to reach the camera around him to grab the lens and adjust the zoom while holding him and then bring the camera back to the side I was shooting while holding on with my left. lol. Really liked filming these non-chalant dudes going 100km/hr. Come see the show. Oct 4 7pm Garneau Theatre by @shouldadanished
