Save this video for the next time you want to curse your friends 💕

This is the product of what happens when some indie musician-filmmakers mash together a stormy folk song with a horror film, and as always, Cherie Howard knocked it out of the park with this costume design.

Never Come Home Again (Official Music Video) screens Oct 17th at the 2026 Edmonton Short Film Festival Official Red Carpet Gala! If you don’t live in Alberta and wanna watch the whole film, it’s also on YouTube at the link in my bioooo

Never Come Home Again (Official Music Video) at the link in my bio 🔗 No Al, just stormy folk music and a chilling plot on a shoestring budget.

If you happen to be based in Edmonton, it’s also screening the evening of October 17th at the Edmonton Short Film Festival red carpet gala 🫶

Thanks so much to @edmontonshortfilmfestival for selecting “Never Come Home Again” to screen as a part of the 2026 Edmonton Short Film Festival Official Red Carpet Gala!

This music video was the result of my experiment to see if two completely opposite things could work together: horror movies and folk music. My song “Never Come Home Again” serves as a banishment to those relationships that no longer serve us, and I thought it would be cool to see what happened if I tried to interpret that theme quite literally in the music video. I’ve been a huge horror buff ever since I managed to get a grip on the overactive imagination I’d had as a kid (big thank you in particular to Scooby Doo Zombie Island and R. L. Stine’s Monster Blood for many a sleepless night), so directing and producing this project was a joy to undertake. A lot of people had some very strong opinions on this one when it was released, so I’m sorry/not sorry if I managed to subvert your expectations of me 😈

If you’d like to see it on the big screen just in time for spooky season (and BOY OH BOY do I wish I could be there), it will screening at the gala in Edmonton in the evening of October 17th at Landmark Cinemas Edmonton City Centre.

The film is premiering! Oct 4 in Edmonton, Oct 7 in Calgary, Oct 8 in Saskatoon and Oct 14 in Vancouver! Tell your friends!

Huge thank you to everyone involved. Lots of donated time from some very talented people. The biggest donation might be from our close friend Will Quiring who wrote and recorded the entire soundtrack along with Matt Kopperud. They are from the best band around @closetalker.

This film was directed by Ryan-Fyfe Brown and Dale Bailey and filmed and edited by Dale Bailey.

Our producers from afar are Josh Huculiak and Mauro Meuller from @gardenfilmstudio and @fidelio.films
Our sound was cleaned up by Jesse Nakano @oldsawstudio and then our sound design and final mix and master was done by the very talented Erik Arnesen @banjoviking

Our biggest thanks goes out to Sebastien and Daniela for being absolute angels to us when we are down in Mexico travelling around. Best people who have helped in so many ways. @seabasortega @danielatapiaa

Many other people lended a hand while we were on the road or helped in the editing process in someway. This film was entirely self funded (the main reason it’s taken so darn long)

Head to our website www.losriosfilm.com for ticket or please sign up to our email list so we can tell ya when the film is coming to a city near you!

Hope that y’all have been having a great start to fall! I’ve got two official shows left on this tour (as well as a sneaky little solo set this weekend)! These are the last performances for awhile since I’ll be heading out to Ontario next month to play with @icarus_theatre!

🌻 Oct 3 | Edmonton, AB

Looking forward to being this week’s feature artist at The Druid to kick off their open mic afternoon! My set’s at 2pm, and feel free to stick around to listen to some homegrown talent, or bring your own instrument and join in on the fun!

🌻 Oct 9 | Cochrane, AB

So excited for this intimate show at Found. We are almost fully sold out, so make sure you grab your tix before they are gone!

🌻 Oct 10 | Calgary, AB

Full band’s coming in hot!! We saw some incredible shows at the Legion a few years back during our first time in Calgary as a band, so we are stoked to join this epic lineup at TPLN X!!

I’ve also been working on my 2027 touring plans, and would love to know: where should I play next? 👀

Tix and more info at the link in my bio xo

Well hot damn!!! Our hearts are very full after and incredible 3 show stand at the @varsconatheatre to celebrate the release of “Get Ready”! Edmonton!!! You showed up!!! Thanks to everyone for coming, and being so generous with us!⁣
⁣
Extra special thanks to everyone at the Varscona, and especially to Kendra and Garett! To Scott Franchuk for going above and beyond to make sure we had exceptional sound, and as always being an indispensable source of timely comic relief! To Dale, Marc, Ian, Eric and Ed for doing such an incredible job documenting it. And to Adam Kidd for being the unsung hero of the whole production: not only leading the charge on the filming, but also helping set up the stage, masterminding the visuals and doing just about anything else you could think of.⁣
⁣
You can listen to Get Ready everywhere now, and we hope you do! And we’d love to hear what you think! Our next hometown show is gonna be a rager on NYE, but in the meantime, the road calls!⁣
⁣
Big love from the Dreamcar⁣
