A year ago, the thought of representing my community at a global stage like the World Urban Forum felt like a distant dream. Today, I’m back from an incredible experience in Egypt—with inspiration, new ideas, and a renewed drive to create change.

Here’s how it all unfolded:

It started with a simple message, “Send a short bio.” Perfect, the project coordinator from Node Eight, reached out about representing the Young and Safe project at WUF. Excited but unprepared, reality hit me hard—I didn’t even have a passport.

But I refused to let doubt win. I submitted my bio, took a leap of faith, and hoped for the best.

🌟 Then, the unthinkable happened! Ecorys UK and the Young and Safe project selected me to attend WUF, all thanks to volunteerism. The thrill was unmatched—but so was the urgency. From securing a passport to navigating the visa process, every step felt like a race against time. The wait for my visa felt endless, but just days before the flight, everything fell into place.

Stepping into WUF felt surreal. I was surrounded by people from all over the world, united by a shared passion for building safe and sustainable communities. It was a moment where my dreams, identity, and purpose aligned perfectly.

Now back home, I feel more motivated than ever to make an impact in Ghana. With new insights and ideas, I’m ready to create meaningful change.

Regardless of your age, the onset of #menarche marks the beginning of your risk for #breastcancer . Previously, breast cancer was associated with older women, but due to changing factors, young girls are now also at risk. It's essential to be aware of the risks and practice conscious self-examination to ensure early detection and prevention.

Not all lumps are cancerous therefore breast cancer should not be based around lumps only. There are other significant symptoms as well. Self Examine your breast regularly to take note of changes. Let's boldly fight off this disease together. 🥰💪🏾 by @shredah.perps
