Been a little MIA from the MTB scene since starting my Mexico journey back in August.

But every trip back to San Diego means linking back up with the boys and getting some dirt under the tires again.

This time, I brought one of my bikes back with me to Morelos… and one more too. 👀

Today was #NewBikeDay for someone very special to me. Just a neighborhood shake down ride for now, but excited to make bikes part of this new chapter in Mexico. 🇲🇽🤘

Goodbye, 2025. 👋

You were the year I stopped pretending endurance was the same as happiness.

For years, I was striving for change without fully admitting it. From the outside, life looked stable—but after eleven years of marriage, I accepted the hard truth that the home we built no longer felt like one.

Not long after choosing change, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Newly single and emotionally raw, the diagnosis landed on top of years of pressure, work-related litigation, and depression. It didn’t create the darkness—it magnified it.

At my lowest point, I chose to change everything. I left my marriage and my home. I stepped away from friends, family, my new grandson, and even mountain biking—the one thing that had always grounded me. I was scared, angry, and overwhelmed.

Treatment decisions forced me to confront fears about my body, identity, and future. There were moments forward motion felt impossible.

But I kept moving. 🚶‍♂️

I pushed myself far outside my comfort zone, living months in Mexico, seeing new places, meeting new people, and finding clarity in the experiences. 🌎 I chose to fight. I chose surgery.

Today, I am cancer-free. ❤️‍🩹

As I step into 2026, I do so with renewed drive and gratitude—for my family who listened and stood by me, my friends who supported me even in my absence, and a special woman I met during my journey whose steady presence carried me through some of the hardest moments. 🤍

2025 took almost everything—but it gave me myself back.

2026 isn’t about surviving anymore.
