Always a good time when we get together. Good sends, big laughs, and plenty of good times on the trails. Nothing better than riding with the homies!

11 miles. 8 hours. One wrong turn.

This hike through Tlalmanalco, Estado de México was easily one of the most challenging hikes I’ve done in a long time. Between the distance, the elevation, and some seriously steep terrain, my legs were definitely asking what I had gotten us into.

But the scenery made every mile worth it — lush pine and oyamel forests, deep valleys, waterfalls, mountain streams, and some incredible views along the way. There were also a few sections that pushed my fear of heights a little more than I would have liked.

The best part was doing it as a team. We kept each other moving, figured things out along the way…and only managed to get lost once. For about 45 minutes. LOL. Apparently, we just wanted to turn an 11-mile hike into the extended edition.

A few cool facts about Tlalmanalco:

It sits on the western slopes of Iztaccíhuatl and is part of Mexico’s Sierra Nevada. The municipality ranges from roughly 2,300 meters (7,500 ft) to over 5,200 meters (17,000 ft) above sea level, so depending on the trail, you definitely feel the altitude.

The mountains are filled with streams and waterfalls fed by runoff from Iztaccíhuatl. The nearby Dos Aguas area is known for several waterfalls, including Los Diamantes, with a drop of up to 110 meters.

Tlalmanalco’s history goes back centuries before the Spanish arrived. Its name comes from Náhuatl and roughly means “place of leveled land.” It later became an important Franciscan center during the early colonial period and is home to a remarkable 16th-century open chapel and former Franciscan convent.

Eight hours later: exhausted, dirty, a little sore…and very happy we did it.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that make you work for the views.

One last sunrise in paradise. 🌅 Grateful for the quiet mornings, the sound of the waves, and the memories we’re taking home. Today we head back to Morelos—but a piece of us will always stay here at Bahía Conejos.

Who would’ve thought we’d find a little piece of Morelos in Tijuana? 🇲🇽❤️

We spent Sunday at Carnaval Sin Fronteras 2026 in Playas de Tijuana, celebrating the traditions of Morelos with an incredible community. It was amazing to see so many people reconnecting with their roots—and even better that Evelin ran into friends from back home. Watching her jump into the Brinco de Carnaval and seeing everyone come together to keep these traditions alive made the day unforgettable.

Sometimes home isn’t a place—it’s the people and the traditions you carry with you.

First real taste of rainy season in Morelos today… heavy rain, flooded streets, and hail hitting hard enough to feel like marbles. One minute riding under blue skies, the next trying to survive nature’s mood swing. Mexico always keeps life interesting. 🇲🇽🛵

Back in Morelos. Sometimes a simple weekday evening is the reminder… life doesn’t always need to move fast. Nature, tacos, slower moments, and reconnecting with your person. 🌅🌮❤️
