Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company Presents

Nevermore: The Imaginary Life & Mysterious Death
of Edgar Allen Poe

A musical by Jonathan Christenson

Nevermore – The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe is a unique and wildly theatrical musical play combining haunting music and poetic storytelling to tell the fascinating and moving life story of iconic American writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849). Poe struggled with tragedy and addiction, poverty and loss, yet produced some of the world’s most original, visionary and enduring literature before dying in unexplained circumstances at the age of 40. At once gorgeous and grotesque, Nevermore blurs the line between fact and fiction, exploring the events that shaped Poe’s character and career and giving powerful expression to Poe’s words “all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

Staten Island, we are NOT staying home this weekend!

If you're looking for something to do with the kids, a date night, or just an excuse to get out of the house, I've got you covered.

Here's what's happening this weekend:

Nevermore, presented by Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company- opens October 16 and runs through October 25. *
I'll be working front of house on Friday, so if you see me, say HELLO!

Heritage Farm Stand at Snug Harbor- Shop fresh, locally grown seasonal produce straight from Snug Harbor's Heritage Farm.

Line Dancing at Max's Es-Ca- Grab your boots and hit the dance floor! Lessons thoughout the night- all experience levels welcome.

Old Home Day at Historic Richmond Town- . Traditional crafts, demonstrations and a chance to experience Staten Island history firsthand.

Blondie & Ramones Tribute Night at The Rock House- Live music, good food and rocktails.

Behind the Scenes at the Staten Island Museum- Get an inside look at how the museum preserves Staten Island's art and history collections, followed by a guided tour.

Autumn Picnic Club at Clove Lakes Park- A cozy fall gathering in one of Staten Island's prettiest parks.

And that's just a sampling! Swipe through for the details.

Save this post for later and send it to the person you're making plans with. Know something I missed? Drop it in the comments so we can all add it to the list.

And while you're out enjoying everything Staten Island has to offer, keep me in mind if buying a home is on your horizon. Helping people put down roots here is kind of my thing ;)
No pressure. Just a plan.

xoxo,
Toni-Ann, your local mortgage pro

Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company Presents

Macbeth
By William Shakespeare

At the center of this production is Macbeth and Lady Macbeth as two halves of a sacred fracture: Macbeth, the sword — forged for violence, conquest, and action — and Gruoch, the vessel — tied to land, bloodline, ritual, and sovereignty itself. Together, they become the old world’s final desperate attempt to preserve itself against extinction. But as Macbeth rises from celebrated warrior to blood-soaked tyrant, the very powers that sought to guide him must reckon with the devastation they have unleashed.

So much is happening on Staten Island this weekend, and with schools closed Monday, you’ve basically got a bonus day to make plans.

This weekend’s lineup:

Macbeth, presented by Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company

WESTFEST 2026, live music and a full day of local sounds on Saturday

St Mary's FALL FAIR

Sugar & Sprinkle: Mommy & Me at Sofia’s Loft, Monday’s school-closed plan for little bakers, with cupcakes, story time, art and hands-on baking

WASTELANDIA at Snug Harbor, an immersive world built from recycled materials combining art, theater, dance, workshops and conversation about sustainability

And yes, I’m always going to say it: you do not have to leave Staten Island to find something to do. Sometimes the hardest part is just knowing what’s happening.

Save this post for later, and send it to the person you’re making plans with.

Know an event I missed? Drop it below so we can all add it to the list.
