A collection of shoe buckles designed to be laced into sneakers - created for @shop_generator as part of @adelaidedesignweek

I made these buckles directly in response to ‘gorpcore’, ‘technical’, fashion (which obvs I do love) as a way to bring a more personal and decorative element to otherwise largely function driven garments. I want these buckles to simultaneously elevate the shoe and highlight the lack of decoration existing in current fashion, architecture and aesthetics (helloooo neoliberalism!?). Inspired by Victorian decorative air vents, (which I started noticing a few months back and now can’t stop obsessively looking for on any vaguely old looking building) the only function of these buckles is adornment. A buckle for your shoe, a buckle for you!

Always wear safety glasses when practicing extremely realistic and to scale LARPing, never get carried away performing unsafe manoeuvres before you are properly trained 🗡️

All I do is ride bike, knolling, go to Adelaide central market, eat hot chips, be bisexual and lie ❤️‍🔥

In a somewhat full circle moment I have returned to my jewellery roots and thus have devised a couple of new sword/dagger earrings. In truth I am a massive fantasy head and could easily see myself veering dangerously close to becoming a miniature scale armourer ⚔️ by @sibling.silver

Throwback to this plinth I fabricated for @adele_mare_ based off her own design to hold her beautiful weaving.

This was my first larger scale fabrication commission and although I would do many things differently now, I am really proud of how it turned out! I learnt a lot through the process and feel so much more confident in my fabrication skills.

Big thanks to Adele for the trust and eternally big thanks to mentor and advisor @tom.golin without who I could literally not do any of this 💙
