POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
🌍 Erstes 1pp1 Label Release 🌎

what is “home”?
Is it the piece of land in China where I grew up, far from where I stand now? Or is it the temporary room I’ve pieced together after arriving in Europe? Perhaps it is any place where I feel at ease, peaceful, a sanctuary that doesn’t necessarily require a fixed physical space.

Inspired by Amitav Ghosh, narratives unfold by leaping gracefully from one exceptional moment to the next. A story takes shape through the connection of moments and scenes that stand out—those Ausnahmemomente/exceptional moments/非同寻常的时刻.

Through my part-time job as a house sitter, I have occasionally gained access to luxurious apartments or houses—spaces where I could temporarily reside and even host guests. These spaces, undefined by permanence or location, offer me the opportunity to explore themes of “luxury”,“out of regularity,” “displacement,” and the interplay of “harmony and disharmony,” “adaptation and maladaptation”.

“Ausnahmemomente / 非同寻常的时刻” is a spontaneous residency project initiated by yuan yuan. It invites individuals with similarly diasporic experiences—those who, in this context, often feel vulnerable—to come together. It emerges as a distortion created by the accidental intersections of different systems and structures, a form of collective living. It is a coexisting with randomness and mobility, a journey along the edges of discomfort and adaptation, and a space for mutual healing.

It features live performances and other improvised interventions or actions.

Co-creator of the first edition: LI Sichi (all pronouns) @sichi_li4 , born and raised in Xi’an, China. In 2012, LI Sichi came to Europe for the first time and studied for three years at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, Italy. In 2017, he moved to Germany to continue his studies in stage and costume design, graduating with a diploma from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden in 2023. Since 2022, LI Sichi has lived in Berlin, where he has realized numerous projects and performances, both organizationally and as a performer, as a stage and costume designer and freelance artist.
