My honest thoughts after reading:

📌 I went in expecting a romance read and came out feeling like I'd processed an old heartbreak.

📌 The pacing is unhurried, which gave every emotional beat room to actually land.

📌 Certain pieces describe endings so precisely that they felt uncomfortably familiar.

📌 The setting of Manila adds warmth and specificity, but the emotions themselves feel universal

📌 It's a book best read slowly, maybe one piece a day, rather than all at once.

Overall, this collection reminded me that love doesn't need grand gestures to be unforgettable — sometimes it's the quiet afternoons that stay with us the longest. by @siddhisversion

Last Chance takes readers on a quirky journey that combines elements of science fiction, comedy, and introspection. Watling introduces a group of unlikely heroes, each grappling with their own personal challenges, who are tasked with ensuring the survival of the human race. Their adventures are filled with unexpected twists, humorous encounters, and moments of self-reflection.

The narrative's structure allows for a deep dive into each character's psyche, revealing their motivations, fears, and desires. This character-driven approach adds depth to the story, making the outlandish scenarios more relatable and grounded. The author's ability to balance the fantastical with the personal is a standout aspect of the book.

Humor is a constant presence, often used to highlight the absurdity of the situations the characters find themselves in. However, beneath the comedic surface lies a commentary on human behavior, societal expectations, and the search for meaning. These themes are woven seamlessly into the narrative, providing substance to the humor.

If you're in the mood for a story that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, Last Chance delivers. It's a tale that encourages readers to embrace the unexpected, find strength in vulnerability, and recognize the value of humor in navigating life's challenges. by @siddhisversion

🔸 Didn't expect a story about reborn warriors to hit me emotionally this much, but here we are.

🔹 The idea of warriors returning to Earth, only to have their human bodies fail them, is such a haunting premise.

🔸 Mauktik's world feels vast yet personal—every character's stakes felt real, not just cosmic backdrop.

🔹 The pacing builds beautifully, especially once the alien threat starts breaking through.

🔸 Loved how identity and loss stayed central even amid galaxy-spanning war.

🔹 The ending left me with genuine chills—equal parts hope and uncertainty.

🔸 A gripping, imaginative read—already hoping for the next installment. by @siddhisversion

I opened this book one evening and didn’t want to put it down—not because it demanded attention, but because it welcomed it.
Ajay Mankotia writes like someone beside you, sharing stories from years of attentive listening and personal experience. The energy is present, but never overpowering. Every narrative feels carefully placed, as if waiting for the reader to notice.

The beauty lies in simplicity. Legends are treated with respect, not awe. Encounters, moments, and reflections are presented honestly, without fanfare. And yet, they leave a lasting impression.

Reading it felt like conversing over tea with a friend who has lived the music deeply. I laughed, paused, reflected, and sometimes just sat in quiet awe.
This book is a companion—steady, insightful, and deeply human. And once you accept that companionship, it rewards you with understanding, warmth, and the subtle thrill of discovery. by @siddhisversion

Book Review: Bleeding Crown by Rajesh Mehta

Some books entertain you for a few hours, while others stay with you long after you've finished reading. Bleeding Crown: Protector of Sivi belongs in the second category.

The characters feel real because they are constantly forced to make difficult choices, and those decisions carry genuine emotional weight. Alongside the powerful storytelling, the political intrigue and historical setting make the experience even more immersive.

The author has created a world that feels alive, making it easy to become invested in every chapter. A brilliant beginning to what promises to be an incredible series. by @siddhisversion

Am I a Dalit? by Vijhay Sundar K.G. is far more than a novel. It is a deeply moving exploration of caste, identity, love, and the invisible burdens people inherit from society. What impressed me most was the honesty with which the author portrays human relationships, showing how prejudice quietly shapes everyday conversations, choices, and emotions.

Vikash, Arundhati, and Shiva all felt like real people rather than fictional characters, making their struggles even more powerful. The journey from Chennai to America adds emotional depth instead of offering easy solutions, reminding readers that changing places does not erase deeply rooted beliefs.

Vijhay Sundar K.G. deserves appreciation for handling such a sensitive subject with empathy and realism while delivering a story that is emotional, thought-provoking, and unforgettable. This is a book that continues to stay in your mind long after the final page. by @siddhisversion

A well-intentioned, well-written novel that I respect more than I enjoyed.

What works:

🔸 Genuinely sensitive handling of a difficult subject — never exploitative

🔹 Strong sense of atmosphere and daily rhythm

🔸 Meera as a character is coherent and believable

What didn't work for me:

🔹 The pacing is very slow — some readers will find the "quiet" tips into inert

🔸 Secondary storylines (the old relationships, the other struggling characters) felt more like thematic mirrors than fully realized subplots

🔹 The ending, while thematically consistent, may feel unsatisfying to readers wanting clearer resolution

I admired the author's discipline in avoiding easy catharsis, but by the final third, I found myself wanting the novel to trust its reader with a bit more forward motion. It's a book best suited to readers drawn to introspective, literary fiction rather than those seeking narrative drive. Worth reading, but go in with the right expectations. by @siddhisversion

Many books for younger readers rely on constant action, but Bro, We've Got A Case! succeeds because it understands that strong mysteries depend on believable characters as much as clever puzzles. Whether confronting cybercrime, rescuing endangered wildlife, or exposing deception, Anaya and Kiaan approach every challenge with determination and compassion. Their relationship gives each story emotional credibility, while the supporting characters strengthen the sense of shared purpose.

The writing remains simple without becoming simplistic, making complex situations easy to follow. More importantly, the book leaves young readers believing that paying attention can genuinely make a difference in someone's life. by @siddhisversion

Every Heart Knows is a love story that discusses the Seven Stages of Love, with warmth and honesty. I enjoyed the focus on understanding, trust and growth instead of idealizing romance, in this book. The writing is very simple and the feelings are not at all fake, so it is a great read for those who love a love story and relationship sort of story. by @siddhisversion

I recently read The Space Between Trying and Letting Go and had a very unique reading experience. It made me introspect deeply about many aspects of my life. It is a quiet, contemplative book that does not use usual language of self-help. It does not provide a rigid method or a promise of transformation. Instead, this book creates space for reflection. It made me stop searching for escape and begin observing what is already present.

The book explores the human habit of controlling and holding on. I loved how intentional and gentle the writing is. Each reflection feels like an invitation to pause and think and absorb the author's words. It made me think of surrender as a deeper form of participation in life, one that requires awareness, honesty and inner responsibility.

I also really liked how philosophy and psychological reflection is present throughout the book and how open and accessible the topics discussed are. This is not a book for readers seeking quick reassurance or practical steps. Its strength lies in stillness and observation. I recommend readers to read this book slowly and let it wash over you.

It can be read from beginning to end or opened at random, allowing its reflections to meet the reader wherever they are. The Space Between Trying and Letting Go is a thoughtful meditation on control, clarity, desire, detachment and the quiet transformations that happen when we stop trying to escape our own experience. This book was really meaningful for me and offered me a clearer way of seeing. by @siddhisversion

A beautifully paced supernatural mystery.

The writing flows effortlessly, making it easy to get absorbed into the story. I appreciated how the author gradually revealed information rather than giving everything away too quickly.

The emotional scenes were surprisingly strong. There are moments involving family, friendship, and personal struggles that felt genuine and relatable.

The chapter structure works very well because each section has its own identity while still contributing to the larger reading experience.

The cover initially drew my attention, but the storytelling is what made me stay.

Definitely worth reading. by @siddhisversion
