We’re welcoming guest bartenders Matthew Schniper of @sidedishschniper and Jacob Pfund, owner of @rebelrebelcsco and former P.O. bartender, behind the bar for an evening of very good company and even better pairings with treats from @yellowbrickbakeshop.

Pull up a barstool Friday, Oct. 16, 6-9pm for Sip with Schnip at @poativywild. Matthew Schniper from @sidedishschniper is stepping behind the bar alongside Jacob Pfund, owner of Rebel Rebel and former P.O. bartender, for a special evening of cocktails and a little friendly guest-bartending mischief. We’ll also have a special menu of cocktail + dessert pairings featuring sweet treats from @yellowbrickbakeshop.

Then come back Saturday morning for Sip with Schnip: Part 2 at @bluebirdbreakfastativywild, from 8-10am. Matthew will be back to sip P.O. coffee and taste the new yummy offerings at Bluebird Breakfast. Joining him will be Eric Nicol, owner of Loyal Coffee and OG manager/bartender of the Principal’s Office when it opened in 2013. Eric will give a special coffee tasting class between 8:30-9:30am. Plus, indulge in a special build-your-own mimosa and bloody mary bar. by @sidedishschniper

Lovely Ode to Carrots private dinner with @chefcupples last night @ephemeradinners
Cupples tells @sidedishschniper this was her first time presenting food for the public in seven years - that she’s been cooking for private clients exclusively.
“This is more personal,” she says. “It’s my food. It feels more high risk.” Regarding the theme, she says "I want to showcase the beauty of a truly unmatched product and the people who produce it. I want people to see that even something as simple as a carrot can be ‘worth a journey.'"

In episode 3 of What’s Cookin’ at Ivywild, @sidedishschniper‘s Matthew Schniper gets a taste of just-opened @yellowbrickbakeshop, then tucks into a hot breakfast from Ivywild’s newest eatery, @bluebirdbreakfastativywild.

From 7am-8pm every day, Yellow Brick offers wholesome loaves and sweet treats baked on site. Everything from scones and cinnamon rolls to baguettes and focaccia to cakes, tarts, and cookies fill the display cases just inside the double doors of Ivywild.

Cozied up next to the Principal’s Office, Bluebird serves up a simple menu of tasty favorites like eggs and bacon, breakfast burritos, and French toast from 7-10:30 every morning. Paired with a craft coffee from the P.O. or a morning pastry from Yellow Brick, it’s a super delicious way to start the day ☀️

Four things from my visit to @thefrenchkitchenco today:
1) Strawberry Danish and Strawberry-Rhubarb Parfait treats that raise $ for the Becky Baker Foundation (who supports breast cancer survivors and families)
2) The relatively new Perfect Parfait that’s essentially another version of TFK’s fabulous Trianon (Royal Cake) that’s my longtime favorite item there. Think: hazelnut, dark chocolate, praline mousse.
3) @blandinemazeran is doing a 50 for 50 Challenge to ride 50 mountain passes and raise $50k for The Listen Foundation (who aids deaf and hard of hearing children). Details on TFK’s FB page.
4) A strategic tasting meeting with the ice cream wizards @joshandjohns to create a future TFK/J&J’s collaboration flavor. (That I can assure you will be epic.😋) by @sidedishschniper

Two new concepts went live this morning @ivywildschool ☀️: @yellowbrickbakeshop & @bluebirdbreakfastativywild
Both open at 7 am alongside @poativywild (with the breakfast running until 10:30 and the bakery going to 8 pm)

Yellow Brick features a wide array of house-made pastries and sweets, ranging from blueberry muffins and cream scones to multiple flavors of Danish (like raspberry, cherry and cheese), plus items like Linzer tarts and a rosemary-apricot bar that especially wowed me during a promo shoot. There’s also cinnamon rolls and cakes and gluten-friendly and -free items, plus house-baked breads that roll out throughout the day.

Bluebird Breakfast offers four main plates:
1) French toast with @ranchfoodsdirect Callicrate beef breakfast sausages or smoked honey bacon and fresh fruit; 2) a Gardner’s Omelet loaded with veggies, plus sourdough or wheat toast; 3) two eggs your way with smashed potato hash and the same toast and sausage or bacon choices; and 4) a Bluebird Breakfast Bowl or Burrito with eggs, smashed potato hash, onion and pico garnishes, sausage or bacon options and either veggies or @spark.bbq brisket made on site.
