Selah - a pause to reflect 🦋 🤍

Earlier this week, I discharged from the best decision I have ever made: a 4 1/2 week stay at Selah House Residential Eating Disorder Program. Just during my short time there, I experienced the most meaningful changes of my life. All I can say is thank you Jesus.

I have been struggling with an eating disorder and a myriad of mental health issues for over 6 years. It is incredibly scary and can feel so alone. At most points in my life, I truly believed it would never get better, and I was going to live like this forever or die. I never gave God a place in my healing other than praying for Him to just take me away. Over the last year, I’ve become distinctly aware of how we can impact others and how they impact us, and I had a new motivation for healing. I wanted to be the good example.

I have no memory in my life of experiencing as much freedom as I feel right now, and I have a will to live that I genuinely can’t remember having since I was a small child. This does not mean it was at all easy or will be easy going forward, but I have a new hope, and an incredible support system of people I love standing beside me 🤍 taken in Selah House by @sierra.on.pointe

I will never have words to describe how this sudden loss feels. On Monday morning, God called my mom home peacefully in her sleep.
To have known my mom was to know love and to know a selfless, insightful, and God filled woman. I truly believe God placed her on this earth to teach young minds and I find so much comfort in knowing she fulfilled that. I could not have asked for a better mom and role model who gave up absolutely everything for my dreams.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to express sympathy and share their memories, each one is so special to me. I will never understand why this has happened. Please hug your mom (and dad too!) extra hard for me tonight. by @sierra.on.pointe

As it marks less than two weeks left in this season, it is time I share that I will be moving to Cincinnati Ballet next year as a Trainee! PNB has been everything to me for the last 4+ years and I am so grateful for the experiences and the incredible people I have worked with here. I’ll be holding on extra tight to these last days in the studios I love 🤍

The biggest and most heartfelt thank you to everyone who guided me through this amazing experience. From the hardest rehearsals to receiving PD swan of the day after doing my 6th new spot, it’s been a time of intense growth and learning. Your patience and kindness has meant the world to me. Sharing the stage with the company dancers I have looked up to for years, corps, soloists, and principals alike was so surreal and inspiring.
