This year, four Sigma members have been named American Academy of Nursing Living Legends, an honor reserved for those whose work has transformed health policy, advanced the profession, and improved care delivery.

Six founders. Three values. One million nurses.

On 5 October 1922, six nursing students founded Sigma Nursing on love, courage, and honor. 104 years later, nurses around the world carry that idea forward in classrooms, hospitals, research labs, and communities.

Today, Sigma Nursing’s Board of Directors announced a leadership change, effective immediately.

We recognize the impact this situation has had on our staff, members, and broader community. Leadership is in place to ensure continuity, and the Board has begun the process of identifying an interim CEO.

Sigma Nursing is aware of the concerns raised publicly regarding private communications involving its CEO. We recognize the seriousness of the issues being raised and have spent today working to understand the facts and determine the appropriate next steps.

The CEO has been placed on leave while the matter is reviewed.

Sigma is grounded in the values of love, courage, and honor. Those values call us to act with integrity, treat people with dignity, and hold ourselves accountable. We are committed to approaching this matter with the care and responsibility it deserves. by @sigmanursing
